Actually, I do care about babies after they’re born!

I’ve taken a gap year to volunteer with underprivileged children :)

Right now, I’m volunteering for an organization that provides assistance to struggling mothers. We take care of their children while they’re at work or if they’re going to a job interview. We also collect donations of essential childcare items for the mothers and babies such as baby bottles, diapers, pacifiers, etc.

Some people have medicines they can’t take while pregnant. Some people have emotional, mental, physical, or financial issues that make being pregnant harmful to them. Some people just don’t want to be pregnant and forcing them through it would be detrimental to their health!

Some people are stuck in abusive situations where their birth control is tampered with - or completely denied - in an effort to keep them constantly pregnant.

Some people get abortions, because they already have kids to take care of. (61% of people getting abortions are parents, last time I checked.) 

I had an abortion in 2013, because it was irresponsible to bring another child into the world. My partner was unemployed; I worked in a physically demanding job in a setting that could put me at risk of miscarriage or being fired if I didn’t perform well; I could not emotionally or mentally put a child in the adoption system; another child would have gone over our max occupancy in our apartment, meaning we would’ve had to move. My already-born kids deserved to be fed, clothed, and sheltered.

What is your source for women getting abortions because of abusive situations like the ones that you mentioned? 

100% of women who get abortions are mothers.

So you had no friends or family that could have let you stay with them until your partner gets a job? There are programs for that help pregnant women find jobs that are suitable for their needs. 

“I could not emotionally or mentally put a child in the adoption system.” Because death is a lot better than having to go to an orphanage or foster home? It’s completely impossible for them to have good lives and achieve things, right?
