the death of working class people in music is truly a tragedy. okay, i like olivia rodrigo, but she's a little rich girl at the end of the day. can she really capture the experience of the people? when you remove her usual lyrics about a less-than-sweet breakup & the usual jealousy young women feel, who is relating to her? more rich girls? im not saying you need to suffer for your art, that's a bullshit sentiment, david lynches take on that says what i think, but these people don't know how normal people live. they don't have to work for their fame & fortune, it essentially comes to them. it's quite unfair, really, imagine how many talented singers we could've had, but they didn't get on tv until they were 24, so now we'll never hear it. bring working class people back to music! the working class made it happen!
