Hello! 😄 If you don't know me yet, I'm Abby and this is my small business, Smiles&Cheeks! 😊

Growing up, I've always admired and collected products from cute brands, such as Sanrio, Line Friends, and many more that I became very inspired to create my own line of characters and merchandise.

For the past year and a half, I've been designing my characters named, Tippi, Ginni, Penni, and Poppi. I'd upload comics, and short silly videos about them on my socials (IG/FB). As well as, positive affirmations that promote self love and show utmost support to those who could need it. It was only a few months ago, when I brought out plushie versions of them!

I thought it would be really fun keeping an online start-up diary to show you guys all the behind the scenes of starting a business here in the Philippines, plus the growth of it (hopefully!)

I know it’s easy to get sucked into our own world trying to achieve our goals and desires that we sometimes forget to pause and truly appreciate the things already in front of us.

Although being fixated in reaching our dreams is good to stay motivated, allowing ourselves to take a step back and have fun with family and friends won’t hurt. Sometimes, we even realize that the simplest things already bring the biggest joys. 💖

Growing up, we’d envision ourselves to be some type of perfect person. Not knowing that life doesn’t always go as planned, so we lose ourselves along the way. But what surprises us is that once we find ourselves again, we become an even better version of who we’ve always wanted to be.

I’m a very passionate person, so I tend to pursue what really gets me excited and happy. Some people may say that this is a no-brainer but honestly following your dreams can be intimidating.

👉🏻First of all, you wouldn’t know if all your efforts would lead to success. They can lead to disappointments because in reality, not everything works out.

👉🏻Second, I know other people’s opinions don’t matter but they can be very discouraging and it takes a lot to block the noise out.

👉🏻Lastly, you might even doubt yourself halfway through and think twice if this is what’s right for you.

I used to overthink these things until it made me dizzy 😵‍💫 but now that I’m older, I realize that these fears shouldn’t even matter.

What matters is you being BRAVE enough to try and go for what makes you happy. And I can confidentially say that I’m proud of myself for doing so. 😄
