Magcien de la trre, an exhibition at the pompidou centre, recommended to me by sheila. Captures something of the magic of "primitive art" but in a sofisticated an effective way. the non-white wall nature of the work affects me as it is something I hold dear to me in my work. Finding a way to effectively portray this will be an imprtant mission for the rest of my year.

This is similar in style to Paul laffoley, especially in the colour choices, layout and symbolism. lafffoley thught he was communicating the messages of an alien inserted into his head. maybe there is someting science fiction in my work? I used to go about exploring science and looking into visions for the future, this ewas part of my grandiosity, perhaps partly due to teenage gung ho as well as drug abuse. A very informative period for my art though.

I love Cy Twombly always as painter, his sculptures took longer to grown on me, but now i'm doing similar, strange, v minimal compared to the often noise of his big paintings but they can be quiet too. I wonder what the relation bet ween his painting nd sculpture was?l He was always into fetish objects, so i guess this ritual element also links us.
