A Day at Sansera's Artic Sea

One of the coolest seas on the grid, it's smack dab in the middle of winter portion of Sansera. It connects to a very outdated Greek city made by the lindens! and it also connects to The Sutherland Abyss that is bordered by a dam.

My second life workshop!

On the left is my primitive basic photo booth. It's just a box that I change the colors of. I keep two basic prim lights in there good for messing with lighting. There's a post stand that's obsolete now that I've learned how to use the built in poser tool.

The setup on the left is my color testing station, it has the magenta/orange , yellow/blue, white/black color tests.

The yellow/blue helps me analyze skin undertones.

The Magenta/Orange helps me place colors into the seasonal color palettes with colors closer to magenta being more likely to be summer or winter while ones closer to orange being possibly spring or fall. Although some colors be be neutral.

First time modeling outfits!

With thousand of options and creators in Second life, a lot of things stores can struggle to stand out and build a customer base. A dress in one store could sell great but a better dress in another store could sell like ice cream in the winter. Reputation can play a part in how long a store lasts and building a good one could net you many years of success. The following best practices are good ways to reach even the most stubborn cheapskates like me. Stores that follow these practices are always the first choice when it comes to where I spend my lindens and from a consumer perceptive I think these are good ways to be succeed in SL.

1.YOU NEED TO PROVIDE DEMOS: this is first for a reason, I understand it’s extra work but lindens are not pretend money with no value. Currently it cost around $5 USD for about 1,600. That may sound trivial, but for many SL users that can add up pretty quickly. I hate wasting money and I don’t have patience to guess what something looks like on my avatar. I guarantee you I’m not alone in this.

2.Gifts, sales and participating in events are good advertising: For majority of stores I currently frequent, I discovered them through either getting one of their products as a gift, on sale or seeing them at an event like the shop and hop. Yes, I understand some may not want to give away or discount their work and that’s fair, but with so many stores it can be a wonderful way to put yourself out there for new customers to see your stuff.

3.Avoid scummy practices at all costs: Price tiers, gotchas, overcharging, self deleting demos, bot spam when you walk in, failing to disclose AI use and pay walling things other stores don’t. This stuff is beneath you as a creator. Customers aren’t walking wallets or crayon eating fools. Treat us with some respect and honesty, and your work will speak for itself.
