Don't Make Pies out of Sloths

For the sake of my sanity I’ve pretty much stopped using Tumblr.  I too a very long break from it and realised I felt a lot happier with it out of my life.  I still post my cosplays over on my Instagram (@jellyfishtart) though for anyone who is interested and that space is strictly image based, so you can finally escape my text updates.  Thank you so much to everyone who followed me here and supported me!  I will keep this blog up as an archive, but I don’t plan on coming back to it.

I really want to try to film something at Detour.  Anime Fargo I had something planned, but it completely slipped my mind and I forgot until I was in the car on Sunday and Fusion I was so stressed a good chunk of the time.  Hopefully I’ll actually get myself together enough to do something decent, but let’s be real here, it’s me, it’s going to make everyone cringe.

Maki photoshoot should be happening this week on either Tuesday or Wednesday! Photos should be up shortly after!

Now that it’s pretty much time for my order to ship out I’m feeling really nervous about my choice to not size up my Maki cosplay.  I didn’t go for XL because all my measurements are well withing the L bracket, but like cm does not offer much room for error.

I really need to get my Taobao order in.  I’m thinking I’ll order Maki separately to make sure I’ll for sure have her for AD this year and then order things for Rantaro and Dia later.

I hope one day everyone can cosplay a character that shares their name.  Because it’s honestly just this amazing moment of pure confusion when someone calls your name and you look at them and have no idea who they are, but they’re super excited to see you and then it hits you that you’re dressed up as a character.

I want to cosplay Monika for DDLC.  Just Monika.

Not gonna lie I kind of want to cosplay Rantaro as well, but Maki is priority.

I keep getting sties on my right eye, so I’ve had to hold off on anything cosplay makeup related,  I need to style my Mercy wig a bit though, I feel like the prestyled one was a bit better, so I’ll work off that one, I think.

I feel like newer cosplayers don’t get a lot of important information about wig care and cosplay maintenance (when it comes to washing them).  I just kind of want to write a guide that covers all the bases that I wish I knew going into it. 

My package got here on Friday, but I’ve been really sick since Thursday night, so I’m not planning to mess with anything until I’m feeling better.  After that I’m hoping I can get y’all some Mercy photos or at least makeup tests!

New York is holding my cosplay package hostage.

I hate painting my nails, but goddamn I hate painting my toenails even more. Fuck you open toe shoes.

Now I'm finally starting to feel a little excited for this con. I had to put on my skirt for Harem Dancer Kotori to try on something under it and I realised just how much I love that costume and how excited I am to wear it, so I'll be wearing that tomorrow and probably Honne Onna on Sunday then. Please say hi and come chat if you see me during the con, I'm always down to meet people and make friends, just ignore my resting bitch face.
