Today in group the topic was âSelf compassionâ. This is something all of us in the group find hard/impossible. We talked about how a person can never really be fully compassionate towards others unless they are compassionate towards themselves. I think up until today I did not agree with his statement. I like to think of myself as compassionate to others, and in my eyes there are many people who love others and are kind to others and yet dislike themselves. But as we were talking I came to realise that this is not the case for me or for the other people that were in the room. When I am unwell I do not feel, not really. So when I am being kind or friendly often it is the case that I am just going through the motions without emotionally connecting. I know how to be kind and I know I want to be kind, so I am, or at least try to be. But this is not compassion; this is a sense of duty which is another thing entirely.

I must say I follow the coolest blogs on tumblr because they reblog amazing stuff Some are struggling with personal issues of which no one deserves to suffer from Some live across the pond Some live minutes away But no matter the distance youâre all still here just a click away you expose your faults and make it okay for me to simply say hi or tell you that I support you, care that your in pain and I just want to show everyone there is someone who has never met you and only knows what you show that genuinely cares

Iâm being too attached to outcomes of my actions. Iâm convinced my mother will say something negative to me if I leave my bedroom, and would prefer not to put myself at risk. In another instance, I was trying to be kind by focusing on now rather than the past or future, but got upset when it wasnât received as I wanted it to be.
I just need to let go of this attachment to making people happy. I should do my level best no matter the outcome.
Meditating is the hardest thing for me, I feel like my eyes will pop out and then they start to hurt because of all the things I start to think of and then I strain to release them.
