ㅤㅤA very important thing to know about Beau's lore is that the old angels and demons that we're all familiar with ( lucifer, baal, michael, gabriel, etc. ) are DEAD and have been for an extremely long time. Humanity doesn't know this, of course, as their stories are merely beliefs ( religion ) or viewed as fictional. Following the events that exposed the supernatural and mystical to the world, it came into question that they could be real. But there was never any definitive proof as heaven and hell are careful to leave no trace of their meddling behind. So those that do believe in their existence will falsely cling to those old, ancient stories for the rest of time.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤAs for the reason behind their deaths...

ㅤㅤLong ago, hell declared war on the angels and nearly won. Their numbers dwindled fast and among them were the likes of those we know. This forced God, who had been a passive observer for millennia, to create new angels for the first time since the establishment of heaven. This was a process of trial and error and only a fraction of heaven remained as the new creations were simply no match for the armies of hell. But one day, they finally succeeded. An angel strong enough to combat any demon was born and she was given the name Micaiah.

ㅤㅤThis new angel single-handedly turned the tide as the armies of hell were forced into retreat. But the war wasn't over yet. She followed them to continue the fight, accompanied by other newly created angels made of a similar formula. Together they felled 2/3 of its inhabitants, including its ruler and the seven sins, before hell finally surrendered. Only after the two realms entered a new agreement did they withdraw and God continued to craft new angels to once again fill heaven. Micaiah was then known as the first seraph of the new age angels.

ㅤㅤ" Tch, some friends those are. " Grumbled beneath a tired breath— one that made it clear he wanted to be anywhere but here. The girl had barely spoken a single sentence to him, but Beau had never been much of a ' people person. ' A few members of his family were quick to point this out and teased him relentlessly about his lack of a love life as a result. What did he care for that, though ? It's not like any of them had the most stable relationship to be preaching to him in the first place.

ㅤㅤWhile sloth encompasses many things apart from being tired or lazy it still plays a  notable role and is most commonly associated with the sin. That said— I’ve had fun with the concept of sloth demons utilizing dreams to their advantage. First is the use of them to communicate. Beau himself doesn’t need to be asleep, only the target. Whether it’s fully appearing in their dreams, ( either as himself or anything else ), or simply as a disembodied voice, he can establish a link with a sleeping person. In doing so, it’s also possible to alter the dreamscape, including his voice, however he pleases. He does have to  know the person in order to establish a connection but the rules on this are very loose. He has to at least be able to visualize them clearly enough to find / summon their unconscious state. It doesn’t work in the way of simply deciding to hop into a random dream nearby unless they are literally right next to him. However, this process is only so lax due to his level of expertise.

ㅤㅤIn lieu with the above, Beau can peer into a person’s dreams by touching or  hovering a hand over their head. If he so chooses, the dream can even be relayed to an outsider via simple contact. He can also bridge the dreams between two or more people, but this requires a fair bit of energy and is an EXTREMELY risky process.  ( Especially if it exceeds two ). This is because by interrupting and overwriting someone’s dream, he has to be conscious of everything going on in order to completely orchestrate the dreamscape and ensure that mental damage doesn’t come to anyone involved. ( These dangers are present even if it’s just him entering someone's dreams ). As such it’s rather  RARE  for him to use this ability in regards to others as he’s extremely against it.

ㅤㅤLastly, for now, is that Beau can craft both dreams and nightmares to bestow upon a sleeping person or simply change their current dream. Both are done through touching the person’s head. This process cannot be interrupted by anyone unless they are of a higher skill level than him. ( But that number is few). Crafted dreams are typically planned beginning to end whereas changing a dream can be equally as elaborate or as simple as implanting a minor influence / concept. For instance, he can ‘ suggest ’ a setting and the person’s mind will build a dream following the idea. Should the person be a lucid dreamer, they will find they can no longer control the dream. Naturally, exiting the dream can only be done by waking up.

ㅤㅤI've officially made a decision. I will be working on converting Belphie into an OC. It's only right since my hcs for most of his abilities are actually pulled from the lore of an ongoing project between me and my friend. While I work on redoing his profile, here are some of the major things to note:

His name will now be Beau Caelum for all verses. This was and still is his " fake / human " name as his demon name will not be disclosed.

He will still be a high ranking sloth demon and prince of hell.

He will no longer have any ties to heaven as he was born in hell.

Rather than him, one of his parents is the " Representative of Sloth. " aka the #1 sloth demon, one of the seven deadly sins, royalty of hell, etc. etc. I will likely make a post about them in the future.

At the moment, majority of my old hcs will still be carrying over ( i.e. his abilities, hobbies, skills, pact making rules ). I will be going through all of them to weed out what is Beau and what is Belphie and likely post revised editions.

Bouncing off the above, probably the biggest thing is that HE WILL NOT HAVE ANY SIBLINGS. As of right now, he is an only child.

It's been years hello. Idk if anyone still follows this blog but I guess I'll post this anyway. After many many MANY times of missing my boy and being tempted, I decided I might finally come back to writing him. BUT being that I don't really have the time or desire to catch up on either game, I'm trying to decide if I just stay canon divergent from the time I last played or if I turn belphie into an oc. I'd love to keep writing him as is, but I'm so far out of the loop it'd feel wrong.

     Something I’ve never gotten the chance to go into because I simply kept forgetting was in relation to this old hc. Those rare, pure-hearted humans that Bel formed a pact with. To reiterate in short, a few times there had been a human that was kind and gentle despite everything around them. Someone who  NEVER  wished to do any harm to others no matter what happened to them. On occasion, he might’ve seen himself in these people and was able to actually empathize, but most times he simply saw them as what they were. A  FOOLISH  and too hopeful human that for some unknown reason had  FAITH  in the rotten world. For the sheer reason that he knew they would never use him for anything bad, Belphegor formed a pact with them. He never quite knew why himself. Whether it was some form of test to see if they would use him, or to extend a hand and offer his  PROTECTION  should they need it.

          Though he would never admit to it, he had taken a small liking to these few rare people. They were a small spark capable of  REIGNITING  his former love in humanity. But each of these people met terrible, gruesome ends.

     The world was cruel to them from beginning to end. And Belphegor knew not what wrong these people had ever done to  DESERVE  such things— but that was it wasn’t it ? They had done nothing wrong and their payment was just that. With their death, his hatred would reform tenfold and disasters were brought forth. Earthquakes, floods, disease— he made it happen or found ways to go about it. Of course, he would get in trouble each time and was confined in the Devildom until they saw fit. Never would he  ADMIT  what happened or why he did such things apart from his usual hatred and ‘ just feeling like it. ’
