Kira here
I don't think we've laughed this much in a long time
The plan was supposed to be simple: go shopping, grab snacks, come back, play a few card games... and somehow that turned into an entire day of doing whatever sounded fun at the moment
The living room looked like a convenience store exploded by the time we unpacked everything. Chips everywhere, candy on the coffee table, empty soda bottles piling up way too fast, and Ben acting like he was personally responsible for making sure nobody stayed sober on caffeine, I swear I've never seen someone drink that many energy drinks without vibrating through a wall
The card games started out normal... until they weren't
Nobody trusted anyone, Jeff kept accusing people of cheating every five minutes, Toby somehow managed to lose in the dumbest ways imaginable, and Ben would celebrate every tiny victory like he'd just won the lottery, We were laughing so hard at one point that nobody even remembered whose turn it was.
I suggested Truth or Dare
Worst. Idea. Ever.
Or maybe the best
There were stupid dares, embarrassing questions, arguments over whether someone had actually completed their dare, and at least three moments where somebody almost got punched, Jeff refused to admit he was having fun, which obviously meant he was having fun
By sunset we got bored of being inside, so we dragged everyone out into the forest
It was weirdly peaceful
The air was cold, everything was quiet except for our voices, and for once nobody was trying to kill anybody,We gathered firewood, built a bonfire, and just sat around it talking about random things, Ghost stories, old memories, dumb jokes, urban legends... Ben kept trying to scare everyone by making weird noises from the trees, but after living here for this long, it takes a lot more than that
At one point we just started wandering through the woods with flashlights, pretending we actually knew where we were going
Spoiler: we didn't
Somehow we still found our way back
Now it's late, Everyone's either half asleep, cleaning up the mess, or passed out somewhere in the mansion.
Jeff and I stayed outside a little longer
We're sitting on the porch, sharing a cigarette, watching the night
Nobody's really saying much
It's nice
Days like this don't happen often around here
I wouldn't mind having more of them
