𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: Sunghoon wasn’t expecting to be sent to the mortal world by his “father”, much less being forced into attending college (he’s a demon! why would he need to?!) and being accidentally summoned by a clueless human almost had him marching straight into Hell to have a word with its ruler. Only he couldn’t, because he was already bound to you by a fucking paper-cut sealing your contract which means he can’t just leave the mortal world without taking something of yours in return.

You haven't sent Sunghoon a letter of admiration in two years, thinking that he didn't care much about it. Little do you know, it's quite the opposite. But Sunghoon might not be waiting for a letter for much longer if your love for him sparks up once again. (spoiler: it does)

Walking to Yeonjuns house, you took in a deep breath. You could already hear the muffled sounds of music and the shouts of wasted teenagers.
'Heeseung didn't tell anyone'
You repeated the mantra in your head over and over as Taehyun rang the doorbell. The door opened within seconds, and Jake was quick to greet your small group of 5 with a wide smile. "Welcome all! Feel free to drink and eat anything you'd like," the Australian held the door open as you all walked in, the music now fully enveloping you in it's embrace.
Now leaning against the wall in your lonesome, it was unexpected when someone approached you. She was easily identifiable, as she was well known on campus. It was none other than Shin Ryujin, now standing next to you, a cup with God knows what in it grasped in her hand.

Now leaning against the wall in your lonesome, it was unexpected when someone approached you. She was easily identifiable, as she was well known on campus. It was none other than Shin Ryujin, now standing next to you, a cup with God knows what in it grasped in her hand.
You've heard your fair share of rumors about Ryujin, mainly about how she's kissed everyone in her math class. You knew this was false, how? Well you happened to sit right behind her in math, and you know for a fact she has never even talked to you. That is, until now.
"Why'd all your friends leave you honey?" Ryujin's breath absolutely reaked of alcohol, but there wasn't as much slurring in her speach as you'd expect. There was another rumor you heard on campus about her insane alcohol tolerance, apparently those were spot on. "They didn't leave me, I'm just not hungry like they are" you slowly stepped away from her, but she persisted.
"How about you have a drink" Ryujin offered, holding her plastic cup up to you, of which you tried to politely decline. "You don't drink? That's what they all say, just have a sip you'll love it," Ryujin placed a hand on your shoulder, from what you could only assume was from understanding. "I'm sorry, I'm really not-"
You were cut off by someone, who you mentally noted to refer to as your savior. "Hey Ryujin, she's clearly not interested, why don't you go get Yeji to swoon over you?" None other than Park Sunghoon grabbed your wrist, pulling you away from Ryujin. You felt your ears burn in a shade that could only be described as Cherry red as you bid goodbye to Ryujin and slowly allowed Sunghoon to take to somewhere else.
"Thanks, but you don't need to hold my wrist anymore" even though you had been pining after this boy for 2 years you didn't feel obligated to bow down to everything he did, even though it was tempting. "I'm sorry, you just seemed really uncomfortable" Sunghoon was dressed nicely, but it was clear that his fashion choice was out of his comfort zone. He fiddled with his collar, he regularly checked his black button up for lint, and he constantly adjusted his silver chain necklace.
Wait no, scratch that, he wasn't adjusting his silver necklace, he was adjusting the necklace you complemented 2 years ago. Thoughts formed left and right in your brain, but one emerged to form a sentence. "I love you necklace, it's cute like you," Sunghoon felt his eyes widen at your words. It had to be coincidence, but the more Sunghoon processed your words the hotter he felt and the faster his brain worked. That was the exact phrase, word for word (Sunghoon would know, he's got it memorized at this point) that was on the back of the purple letter that you sent 2 years ago.
"Really? Thanks" Sunghoon tried to seem nonchalant, however his heart had other plans. "I feel a bit hot actually, I'll go get a drink" He quickly accused himself to cool off the second he saw Taehyun walking in this direction. Grabbing a drink that was offered to him from another party attendee, he didn't check if the water bottle had already been opened before downing over half of the water bottle. The chill was quick to rush through his veins, calming the loud throbbing of his ears that could be head over the music.
Taehyun handed you your chips, taking one for himself as he watched Sunghoon drink his water, panic evident on the ice skaters face. "What's up with him?" Taehyun looked at you before checking his hair, as if Riki had done something to it once again. "Is it okay if we leave a bit sooner than we planned?" You started, feeling something well up in your throat, "I think he figured it out Hyun" staring at Sunghoons figure leave your eyesight, you realized that he never left. It only appeared that way because of the tears forming in your eyes, blurring your vision.
Taehyun had you in his arms within seconds and quickly sent a text to the group chat notifying them that you two would be outside. Leaving the suffocating house, the cool air greeted the both of you with welcome arms as your sniffles and tears started to cease. "I'm sorry for dragging you out of the party" You let out a meek chuckle as you sat down on one of the outdoor chairs stationed to the right of the front door, your body slouching slightly and your head looking down. "No it's alright, don't apologize" Taehyun kneeled down to meet your eyes and smiled, wiping a stray tear. "Stand up, get rid of that posture it's bad for you" Taehyun offered a hand and without hesitation you allowed Taehyun to pull you up, putting all of your weight onto him.
Still holding onto Taehyuns arm, you made eye contact with him. You muttered a small thank you before embracing him in a hug. Strangely, you didn't want to let go. You did anyways, but before you could say something Taehyun did something very unexpected.
He kissed you.
Even though the movement itself was sudden, the kiss was gentle, sweet and soft. But what surprised you more was how naturally your hands wrapped around his neck, becoming entangled in his hair. Taehyun pulled you closer, and it was clear that he didn't want to let you go. He held you with such care, like you were a delicate piece of glass that could be shattered at any moment.
You felt the sparks light up around you in the way your noses aligned, and how you wouldn't care if Sunghoon walked outside and saw you two. It was almost as if you had been in love with Taehyun this entire time, and not Sunghoon. Almost. So as you heard the once muffled music become loud and clear as the front door opened, you and Taehyun broke apart, arms still intertwined around each other. And as you looked to the front door, you were met with none other than Park Sunghoon.
As you watched Sunghoon walk back inside the house, you realized that you do care that Sunghoon saw you two. You looked back at Taehyun, not wanted to leave the warmth that was his arms. "Go after him. I'll get over it, don't worry" giving Taehyun a wide smile, you pecked his cheek before running inside.
Taehyun, now alone, allowed himself to feel. He sat down on the outdoor chair, reminiscing the feeling of your fingers in his hair, the feeling of your lips on his, the feeling of you. It felt so genuine, but it'll always be Sunghoon, and he's known that from the get-go. So even though it still hurt, it didn't hurt as much as it did 4 years ago, when he first found out about the letters.
As the tears fell, he thought that they would stop rather quickly like they always did, but this time the tears were persistent. He wiped them away with his sleeve, but more always came. He felt himself let out a sob, and then another, and before he knew it Taehyun had his head burried in his arms, gasping for breath. Everything hurt, all of the pain he'd been hiding was being uncovered.
His heart, it hurt like nothing else he'd ever experienced. His heart felt like it had been ripped out of his ribcage and stuffed inside the fake story he had built in his head where you and him lived together, loved together. He remembered the times you spent together, and one fond memory came to mind
"Hey Hyun" you rolled over on the bed to face Taehyun, who was sitting at the desk right beside it. Your 'first-year-of-middle-school' self showed the boy your phone screen. "Why are you showing me a song?" Taehyun took a second to admire your features as you searched the lyrics up. "Here look, aren't these lyrics sentimental?" You handed Taehyun the phone as he read them, somewhat interested.
"Why though?" Taehyun raised an eyebrow. You were definitely getting more interesting by the day. "This should be.. our song" You looked at the boy, happiness and pride on your face. "It can be an us thing you know?" Taehyun felt his heart flutter for the first time while being around you, and it wasn't until after he walked you home that he realized that he had fallen utterly in love. "Our song? I like the sound of that" He pat your head, laughing when you complained.
Wiping the last tear away, Taehyun felt his heart slowly mend itself together. But he couldn't help but mutter his favorite verse of the song. Why it was his favorite he didn't know, especially since the verse brought him the most pain. He should've just forgotten about the song, he shouldn't have let himself fall for you so easily. Yet here he was, crying over something that was bound to happen.
'My heart hasn't changed, I still want you
I still miss you after all these years
I still remember the first day we met
Your clothes and hair style perfectly'
Taehyun felt his voice crack as he stopped in the middle of the verse. His now tired and red eyes still managed to poor out more tears no matter how much he wanted to stop. Taehyuns head started to pound and ache from crying so much.
This was going to be a very, very long night for Taehyun.
After walking around the loud and incredibly crowded house, you started checking the bedrooms after you were unable to find Sunghoon. You heard some very.. not so family friendly stuff by accident but slowly you found a room that was dead quiet. Hoping that you weren't going to interrupt anything, you gently eased the door open.
You were met with a sleeping Sunghoon, with Heeseung currently tucking him in bed. "Oh, I'm sorry for bothering" You were quick to pretend that you didn't walk in here with the intentions of talking to sunghoon. "It's alright," Heeseung started, motioning you to enter the room, "By the way, Sunghoon told me." Your heart stopped. Did Heeseung know about the kiss too or did he get old news?
"Man, I really thought I was the g.o.a.t for knowing too" Heeseung kept the mood light-hearted, of which you were very thankful for. You assumed that he didn't know about the kiss, and breathed in relief. "I'm sorry, it just slipped" You sat on a corner of the bed, farthest from Sunghoon. "He went outside to look for you but came in really quickly and ran straight in here, not sure why" You were unsure whether or not Heeseung knew about you and Taehyun, so you did what you did best. You changed the topic.
"Why'd he suddenly become so sleepy?" You stared at the boy you sent letters to for years. "Not sure, probably just ran out of adrenaline" Heeseung adjusted the blanket and there was a comforting silence. Just you and Heeseung, who may or may not be just staring at sunghoon sleeping. Realizing how weird the situation would look to anyone who walked into the room right now, you decided to bid goodbye.
"I think I'm going to head home now, it's getting pretty late and I am responsible for Riki and all" giving Heeseung a small smile you excused yourself and collected everyone in your group.
When you went to get Taehyun he was still outside, his eyes a little pink and puffy, but he excused it as allergies. You mumbled a small apology to him but he assured you that it was okay. You couldn't help the knot of guilt that formed in your stomach on the car ride home.

a/n: this was supposed to be out in september LMAOOOOO also guess who cant add dividers bc of picture limit - mod sal
a part of you really wanted to go to that date, escape your lonely comfort zone and leave behind otome games. this could be fun, you wouldn't have to necessarily meet them again or even get into a relationship, it's just one date.
or maybe you really didn't want to reject anybody.
"i'm going." you stared up into kitaes eyes as if to showcase your determination (she wasn't really paying attention to that, you'd realize when hearing your sunscreen bottle open with a loud clack.) "i have nothing to lose."
dormmate no. 1 sprayed some perfume on you, a smile quirking onto her pierced lips. "good. i left work early for this, and ren got his ass up and made food." god, she could've easily used that to pursue you into that date (of course she wouldn't but you would've fallen for it). your toothbrush was thrusted onto you, you grabbing it before letting the bristles touch your sweater.
"wear my vintage reeboks and corduroy jacket, i'm not letting you face any potential lover looking like that." you heard faintly from kitae's room to the right of the bathroom door. you were hoping she meant that nicely.
after staring into the mirror, picking apart every part of your appearance (especially how stuffy you looked in that jacket), you had decided you were presentable. "did ren actually make sashimi?" you stepped out the door, looking back at kitae who was locking it.

"mingi wouldn't have agreed if it weren't for raw fucking fish," she answered, " well he probably would've 'cause he does anything ren asks him to."
it took four minutes and probably 50 seconds to get to that cafe around the corner (the reason why you knew this, is because whenever you were in just the slightest bit of a hurry, you'd check the time at every possible chance). kitae leaned to your ear to tell you where to sit before pushing you away from her: a table right at the window behind a huge potted plant, an awfully nice spot for a first date.
now you were at the table behind a huge potted plant, looking around so the scarily attractive man sitting by it wouldn't immediately know you were his date. the moment you had gathered enough confidence you acted as if you just found the right table, keeping up with the act you buried yourself in.
"are you mingi?" you put a hand on the other free chair at the table, as if to claim it as yours.
"yeah," mingi replied, putting his phone aside and looking directly at you. (why was his voice so deep? who allowed him to have a voice like that?)
"sorry to keep you waiting." you sat down, watching him shake his head softly, muttering that it's all good. "i'm y/n, ren's dormmate." that caused mingi's eyes to widen slightly, letting out a small "oh" that turned into even smaller laughter.
