PIDGEOT. Nicknamed Pirdgey, his starter pokemon and the one he took into the army with him; he started as a Pidgey with an injured wing that John found when he was younger and nursed back to health. Evolved first while in the army and then again the year after he left. Likes to perch on his shoulders and open his wings. Not quite a phoenix reference, but birds y’all. Fly, Aerial Ace, Double Team, Roost.
HAUNTER. Received as a Gastly from his childhood friend ( @helenaiism ) and evolved a couple years after he left the army. Shadow Punch, Dark Pulse, Venoshock, Double Team.
GARDEVOIR. Caught as a Ralts, originally planning to give her to his sister, but ended up keeping her after Cordelia died. Tbh she’s spoiled and when she was a Ralts she would always take over his lap and would hide under his clothing from people. Psychic types have lots of uses so he would have one on any team. Psychic, Draining Kill, Healing Pulse, Double Team.
SHARPEDO. Caught as a Carvanha and has had it’s own lil pool since then. Bc what’s better in water-based situations than a shark, right? Night Slash, Surf, Ice Fang, Scald.
LEAFEON. Caught as an Eevee and evolved unintentionally ( on his part ). She likes to hang out at Helena’s place more bc she has more plant life. Sometimes things call for a certain skillset that grass types just fit and Leafeon is very... cat-like? So. Magical Leaf, Gige Drain, Synthesis, Leaf Blade.
PYROAR. Caught as a Litleo. The first gen vi pokemon John caught. Bc honestly there’s gotta be someone on the team who can track more effectively than him okay. Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Double Team.
