Disney Branded Television Invites You To A Gorotama Showdown As "Dragon Striker" Sets Worldwide Debut On Disney XD, Disney+ And Hulu.

What can we say it's the Key to life.🔥🐉⚽️

The official trailer for the epic animated sports fantasy series Dragon Striker was revealed today. Blending European fantasy with Japanese animation influences, the series follows an underdog hero’s journey, brought to life through high-stakes battles, visually stunning action and expansive mythology.

All 11 episodes premiere June 9 on Disney XD. The marathon kicks off at 5:00 p.m. EDT/PDT and will stream next day on Disney+ and Hulu. Worldwide audiences will be getting the series Wednesday June 10 on international versions of Disney+. Disney Branded Television also has unveiled the cast of the series:

-Akshay Kumar plays Key

-Rebecca LaChance (D-CELL GAMES "Unbeatable") plays Ssyelle

-Yeukayi Ushe (Massive Entertainment "Star Wars: Outlaws") plays Milo

-Waylon Jacobs (20th Century Studios "Planet Of The Apes: A New Kingdom") plays Odward

-Evanna Lynch (Nickelodeon Animation Studios "Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", Warner Bros Pictures "Harry Potter" franchise) plays Ameline

A series of shorts "Dragon Striker: Meet The Players" introducing audiences to the world of Dragon Striker begins rolling out May 13 on Disney+, Disney XD and Disney Channel Animation YouTube.

Award-winning Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss, Star Wars: Visions) is the series composer. The score was recorded in Japan with an 80-piece orchestra. The series theme song, “Power of the Dragon” was written and produced by Cash Callaway and performed by Sarah West. The end credits song, “The Very End,” was written and performed by Kieran Rhodes.

Both songs will be released Friday June 5 in all digital music platforms via Walt Disney Records.

The series will have a special panel at Anime Central Expo slated for Saturday, May 16 at 2:00PM CT.

What were some of the inspirations for The Three Tomes' art style? It kind of feels like a mix between Archie comics & anime

Howdy! The Three Tomes Art style is kind of a weird amaglam of stuff i've consumed over the years. But it's super cool that you picked up on Archie comics because Archie comics was definitely an inspiration for me for years. I used to try to emulate that quite a bit , I read the double digests and enjoyed Archie's Weird Mysteries growing up. And Yeah I looove anime as you can tell. So I'd say that the art style for The Three Tomes is kind of a weird combo of , Anime , Archie Comics, Disney-esque vibes, and some elements from specific shows I enjoyed growing up like, Bleach, Sailor Moon, proud Family , and Kim Possible.

Let's take a look at what The Three Tomes is about for the new folks out there.

A YA queer coming of age story about a Black bi teen girl turned witch , and the the two bi vampire boys after her heart.

I grew up in the Midwest . My teen years were the 2010s and I never saw myself in the teen media that I consumed. Twilight , Buffy , Hunger games , the magic series by the terf who shall not be named ... It was all fun back then sure, but I never noticed til I got older that characters who looked like me were rarely centered in adventure fantasy stories . Black people may have been present but weren't prominent...got sidelined ....died ..... Or were the disposable black girlfriend/boyfriend/partner.

Flash forward to me working in animation for nearly 10 years now.... I see Cancellations of shows , so many that are black , brown and queer, mergers, AI, the hostility to our people and marginalized people as a whole in this political climate , and the desire to create being trampled on.

I said y'know what ....I want to make something for me. For the me that would have wanted this when I was younger ...as a queer black femme person ...I wanted to make something that reflected the stories I loved but never saw myself in .

Black folks can be whimsical , magical , witches , vampires , mermaids , dwarves ...anything. We belong in these stories and deserve Black joy . Especially now.
