                  𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗗.  〆  𝗔𝗦𝗞.  〆  𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗢.  〆  𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗥.

DESPERATE TIMES MAN

                    the  weight  of  his  sins  were  as  great  as  the  weight  of  his  trauma  ,  both  crippling  each  shoulder  with  pressure  too  great  for  any  normal  man.  he  had  been  through  too  much  ,  survived  too  much  ,  for  anyone  to  consider  him  normal  (  he  would  simply  call  himself  lucky  ).  such  tolls  also  wear  down  the  mind  as  well  as  the  heart  ,  causing  him  to  struggle against  temptation.  he  desperately  wanted  to  feel  her  embrace  again  ,  for  someone  to  tell  him  that  he’s  a  good  man  (  that  it  wasn’t  his  fault  ,  he  always  tried  to  do  the  right  thing  ).  ❛  i’m  tired  ,  mom.  ❜  a  defeated  tone  ,  figurately  yet  literally  was  soon  behind  it.  his  posture  relaxed  as  he  lowered  his  shotgun.  as  his  head  leans  forward  ,  his  eyes  catch  glimpses  of  white  &  black.  ❛  wait ...  ❜  tommy  began  to  feel  suspicion  again  ,  senses  making  a  final  attempt  ...  but  was  it  too  late  ?  

                    kindness  was  difficult  to  find  in  this  world  ,  especially  the  one  tommy  has  found  himself  within  (  or created  for  himself  ).  his  eyes  are  caught  by  hers  ,  lips  tilting  upwards  as  he  takes  comfort  in  her  hospitality.  allies  were  rare  in  his  line  of  work  ,  as  if  his  line  of  work  was  common  (  not  many  survived  to  make  it  a  living  ).  slowly  ,  he  nodded  before  sitting  back  to  take  steadier  breaths.  ❛  none  of  us  are  truly  safe  ,  alice.  not  while  there’s  evil  out  there.  ❜  he  broke  their  gaze  to  look  away  ,  instinctively  checking  the  windows  &  door.  his  head  snapped  back  at  the  mention  of  her  guest  room.   ❛  i can  ?  that’d  be  great.  i  ... really  appreciate  your  help  ,  especially  since  you’re  putting  yourself  in  danger  by  doing  this.  ❜

                    the  initial  panic  began  to  subside  ,  leaving  space  for  logic  to  have  some  influence  over  his  thoughts.  there  was  a  lot  in  this  world  that  tommy  didn’t  understand  ,  despite  the  fact  he  hunted  most  of  the  impossible.  he  slowly  nods  his  head  ,  glancing  to  the  ground  as  he  attempts  to  comprehend  it  once  again  (  even  if  it  was  futile  ).  ❛  how  can  you  not  know  ?  it  just  doesn’t  make  any  sense.  ❜  a  beat  ,  realising  that  he  was  beginning  to  loop  his  thoughts.   ❛  who  am  i  kidding  ,  i  saw  jason’s  dead  corpse  rise  from  the  grave  ...  at  least  you’re  on  our  side.  ❜  slowly  ,  but  surely  ,  he  relaxes  his  posture  despite  his  eyes  staying  cautious  on  his  immortal  ally.   ❛  how  can  i  trust  you  ?  ❜

                    the  invite  was  almost  too  tempting  to  resist  ,  every  ounce  of  him  fighting  back  the  urge  to  run  into  her  arms.  he  had  been  running  for  too long  ,  fighting  for  even  longer  (  against  what  ,  he  asked  himself  ).  jason  was  only  half  the  battle  ,  the  world  wasn’t  on  his  side  either.  thus  ,  the  comforting  (  albeit  deceiving  )  voice  from  his  mother  was  what  he  craved  more  than  anything.  ❛  m-mom  ...  i’ve  missed  you  ,  of  course  i  have.  ❜  she  didn’t  deserve  her  fate  ,  nor  did  anyone  who  suffered  by  jason’s  hand.  then  tommy  reminded  himself  ...  she  wasn’t  real  (  even  if  he  wanted  her  to  be  ).  ❛  you  died  ,  remember  ?  jason  killed  you  ,  mom.  how  can  you  be  here  ?  ❜  

- when tommy is much older, my canon relies on the never hike alone fan films, where tommy has found a bit more peace with himself and works as a paramedic near crystal lake.

                    there  were  few  left  in  his  life  who  sought  his  genuine  wellbeing  ,  especially  when  his  life  has  been  consumed  by  trauma  &  death.  there  were  those  who  would  sooner  silence  his  cries  ,  or  at  least  subdue  them  (  he  wasn’t  crazy  ,  he  kept  telling  himself  that  ).  he  took  temporary  comfort  in  sharing  his  company  with  someone  who  hasn’t  immediately  had  him  arrested  ,  not  yet  anyway.  ❛  you’re  not  going  to  tell  them  i’m  here  ?  if  you  do  ,  they’ll  drag  me  back.  ❜  a  beat  ,  eyes  glancing  off  with  fear.  ❛  i  can’t  go  back.  i  still  need  to  hunt  him  down.  ❜

                    his  already  pressured  mind  became  strained  with  confusion  ,  struggling  to  understand  the  enigma  before  him.  this  wasn’t  real  ,  he  wasn’t  real.  there  was  only  one  being  capable  of  returning  from  the  dead  (  &  tommy  was  sworn  to  end  his  existence  ).  ❛  no  ,  no.  i  don’t  believe  you.  this  isn’t  fucking  real.  ❜  disbelief  subsides  for  just  long  enough  for  him  to  notice  his  bloodied  clothes  ,  an  indicator  that  he  may  be  telling  the  truth.  his  hands  stay  against  the  wall  ,  eyes  darting  between  his  invisible  wound  &  his  expression.  ❛  what  the  hell  are  you  ?  answer  me  !  ❜

                    opponents  fated  to  fight  until  the  end  of  time  ,  their  rematch  rekindled  again  countless  times.  the  fear  never  faded  ,  no  matter  how  many  encounters  he  had  with  slasher  before  him  (  each  time  ,  so  many  died  because  of  their  rivalry  ).  blood  trickled  down  from  his  forehead  ,  coating  his  sweat-covered  skin  with  thick  crimson  as  his  hands  grip  the  flimsy  axe.  there  were  only  so  many  steps  left  behind  him  until  his  back  would  collide  with  something  (  whether  it  be  a  wall  or  a  drop  ,  it  didn’t  matter  ).  ❛  c’mon  ,  asshole  !  this  ends  right  here  ,  between  you  &  me  !  ❜
