escape war

he finds himself sprawled out upon the field, needles of grass pricking his backside, half - lidded eyes gazing up at the sky. he would reach out for the sun, the one constant of his life —– the damned bright light that followed him even amid the darkest of days, mocking him with its brilliance. he’d thought he’s been ambushed by an enemy, sought to curse the gods for his untimely demise —– but, lo and behold, ‘twas a friend not foe. 

he breathes out, soreness settling in his bones as the throbbing ceases now.  ❝ ——- crivens, that hurt. ❞ he manages to pull himself up, still looking up at the other while he sat on the ground.  ❝ i’ve had worse. i’ll be alright.  ❞

a sigh of relief leaves him as he sees the redhead sit up, as well and responsive as one could be after being run down by a runaway pegasus.  at the sight, he extends a hand, anxious glance shot at the now relatively calm pegasus, like she might fly off and trample yet another innocent bystander.  it doesn’t seem like a far fetched idea at this point, really.
