A glance down at the book Minah shows him. It’s a familiar one; they’ve already gone through it in the Advanced Herbology classes. “That’s true.” He nods in agreement with her. He himself had experienced wanting to suffer through some pain rather than taking a Potion. Some Potions were just dreadful, the plants they were made with having an overpowering bitter taste.
“How are you going to make it taste good, though?” he inquires. Her idea is certainly interesting — he finds himself invested in it, curious about its potential. Something like this has never been done before in the wizarding world. He’s not sure why, but he assumes the plants are simply too bitter for anyone to have bothered trying. If anyone can do it, though, he knows it’s Minah.
“Do those foods taste good?” he asks. He doesn’t know too much about the muggle world, having grown up in a full-blooded wizarding family. Despite having gone to a muggle school prior to Hogwarts, his experiences with normal muggle things were minimal. “I can’t imagine those herbs would taste as bitter as magical plants. But I don’t doubt you can do it!” He’s quick to add his assurances, as he has a strong belief in his friend.
There’s a laugh at her business proposal. “It sounds like a wonderful idea,” he agrees, a laugh escaping him. “It has a lot of potential, if you can actually make it taste good.”
How does one cover the unlikely taste of potion? Minah had thought of it before already. It was indeed a pain in the ass. But in Hogwarts, no one really 'cooks' their meals. The food is already provided at the great hall with a swish and a flick of a wand. “You add the potion as an ingredient to a meal.” Minah explains. “Or baking. You can either add it or use it as a substitute for certain ingredients.” The only reason why Minah knows how to cook and bake is that she's used to helping out her mother and she took the hobby with her to Hogwarts. Baking every now and then, when her books and her wand isn't calling for any attention. It was the most muggle thing she shares with her fellow Hufflepuffs, especially purebloods who seem fascinated by the things that certain muggle appliances can do.
“They do! Me mum used to trick me into eating my medicine instead of having me take it. You see, when you know it's awful, it makes you feel worse than better.” The female pauses for a bit, thinking things through before blinking at Kenji. Letting the rest of her thoughts flow. “The potion is like the Truth. Something most people are scared of. Using it as an ingredient is more like sugarcoating it. Giving them an ample masked truth, hoping it's easier for them to swallow. Only this one, is to be swallowed literally.” She explains, a little excited about this project. Not everyone would come up with such an idea. At first, she was scared someone would tell her that it's outrageous. But thanks to Kenji, she realizes that the idea itself ain't rubbish at all!
“Have you ever had a roasted chicken? Those herbs can be used to marinate the meat and adding it to the sauce. It would do wonders! Bloody brilliant, isn't it?” Clicking her tongue playfully at Kenji as he seems to think through her proposal. They still have one year to flesh things out and after Hogwarts, they can most definitely get themselves a spot at the Diagon Alley if they so desired but Minah needs Kenji to test things out for her for the success of this business proposal indeed. “Do help me with my research on this plants some more, Ken. Maybe I can add some herbs to my next batch of cookies and you won't know it!”
