Over the past few months, I have been working on a project that incorporates family and legacy gameplay into aspects of the game I normally don’t touch. With months of planning and gameplay testing under my belt, I have developed a legcay challenge I like to call the Ties That Bind Challenge! The best part is that there’s both a version for The Sims 4 and The Sims 3! That way you can choose which version you prefer to play with and see the differences in both iterations of the series if you have both games!

My afternoon was uneventful. I spent a good chunk of time responding to emails from my superiors and escaping from the brutal desert heat in my trailer. The little time spent outside was during the cooler hours of the evening taking a walk to the store to buy ingredients for meals.

On my way back home, I got a text message from Erwin. He asked me to meet him at his shop the next morning. Alone. With trepidation, I accepted. I wasn’t about to lose the first chance I had to make a friend in this place. Plus, by the tone of his message, it seemed pretty urgent.

After settling into my new place and unpacking the rest of my belongings, I went out to explore my new temporary home. One place of interest to me was a roadside stand right outside the trailer park.

“’Curios, Mementos & More’... Wonder what the more is?”

Intrigued, I went up and introduced myself. The place was run by a guy named Erwin Pries. Nice guy, if a bit off. I discussed how I was living in Strangerville for the next few months for a political internship and he offered me a cautionary word of advice.

“You know that Mayor Roswell guy? Stay away from him!”

“Why? What’s up with him?”

“SHHH! Not out here! Too many ears! And too many mouths!”

After this week, everything as I would know it would change forever. It may seem like an exaggeration, but packing up and moving to this small desert town for a better opportunity would lead me down some dark paths. I would have never pictured myself going from a starry-eyed intern from Brindleton Bay to a radical that swayed too far from the cause, but I guess the right mixture of ambition and desperation can do that to anyone.

It;s official! With August starting up, I’ll start posting the first chapter of my Ruining the Simsie Save series that I have been organizing over the past month. While the aim of this project is to see how much trouble I can stir up in Kayla’s idyllic save file, I plan on giving a story behind everything that my simself does, as well as why he even becomes this way in the first place. As you might assume from the name of the first chapter, I’ll be diving into the origins of our dastardly villain-to-be. Every good antagonist needs a solid origin story after all!

Since a ton of photos will be coming in the next few days, I figured I’d show a glimpse of my bright-eyed simself, as well as his traits and aspiration for the time being.

Ah, the Simsie Save! So detailed! So perfect! Almost... too perfect.Yeah, I know that there’s some tension in most households and there’s that one woman in Strangervile that murdered people, but sometimes life is a bit more harsh than that. It’s for this reason I decided I wanted to spice things up a bit in my personal gameplay by creating my simself and seeing what trouble I could stir up in this peaceful little save file. The best part is that you get to come along with me!
