Sometimes I have bad dreams

It's not that they're particularly scary

Just too realistic

Often they feature people who aren't in my life anymore

When I wake up more time I just feel shit and sad

Wishing my dreams were a reality

But they are not

They keep happening more and more

And you know me I worry about everyone

So it's hard sometimes

I'm not going to do anything about them

I can't.

We were walking in the park

Your dad was pushing the pram.

Someone who knew me

Claimed to love me

To help me up

Help me out

Help me be me again

But all I learned is that's the past

That's not my life anymore

You're not my life anymore

I'm my life

I'm her life

She hates my negativity

But she'll never let me rot

She'll never let me fester

I don't need you

She loves me

It gets like this

Every so often

But this is the worst it's gotten

We get so caught in our heads

Don't want to say anything

Don't want to mess it up

We are scared

We know a conversation could open up the box

Lead us down the road we neither want to go

So we bottle it up

But it never stays concealed

We are human beings

We crack

Tears falling down your face

That's a crack

I hate the pressure we put on ourselves

On one another

We don't need it

Yet we do it

Breaking hearts simultaneously

I don't want you to cry

I don't want you upset

I need to hear your voice

The sounds that say it all

Not the sobbing

The background

The foreground

Let's be transparent

Working on it

Working on us

How else do we make it?

You taught me that conversation is key

It changed

We talk more

But still things get left behind

Because we both became scared

Feared the conversation

The reaction

But that's how we break
