Knowing your skin type
Before picking out your skincare regimen, knowing what your skin type is very important. Once you figure out what your skin type is, then you know what your skin needs. It can be trial and error when it comes to finding what’s right for your skin. Our skin change throughout our life. It depends on our lifestyle, hormones, climate, stressors, diet, etc. It may sound daunting to micromanage your skincare routine and finding the right balance. Taking things one step at a time is how you’ll find the balance in your skincare routine; what really works and what doesn’t. With that being said, What skin type do you think you have?
To start off, Normal Skin. Normal skin has a fantastic baseline, normal, healthy, and hydrated. Your skin is bouncy, the tone is bright, and you’re neither flakey or oily.Â
Dry Skin: Skin feels tight, dry, and flaky, rough texture, and may sometimes feel itchy.Â
Oily Skin: Excess sebum, blackhead congestion, large pores, shiny skin by midday, and the feeling of wanting to wash your face all the time.Â
There’s also combination skin, which is the combination of dry and oily. It’s usually oily on your T-zone and everywhere else can feel dry.Â
You can also have sensitive skin, which can easily react to products causing the skin to feel irritated or itchy.Â
