I am the creature that lurks in the night.

Wallowing around the kitchen with its stomach in its skull.

And its brain in the toilet.

The grease can be washed away from the skin.

But it will never leave my veins.

I am the monster that hides in the closet.

Wasting my life away trying to hide in other people’s shadows.

But my outline always too big to fit in their cookie cutters.

I am the ghost hiding in your bathroom.

Watching and hoping that one day I can possess your body.

But I am too full of honey and oils to be able to.

I want to take leaps and bounds forward.

But I cut off my feet in exchange for sugar.

I hide in blankets but the lump will never leave.
