“Oh, it’s you.” A statement, no surprise in his voice--rather a fleeting curiosity. He stared at the other for a long while, aware that their last encounter met with his nen just completely sealed. Not an impossible task to cure but still a difficult one. A mild inconvenience at best for Chrollo. He had to wonder! Did this one have that ability here?

He was without Bandit’s Secret, however this wasn’t a surprise. The smile that didn’t reach his eyes pulled across his lips and he tapped just under his bottom lip as he considered this. A very irrational one, that’s what he observed from their last encounter. One who went through with what he threatened--a deadly promise. Cost the lives of at least two of his Troupe. So one who remained on his list.

“And how did you manage to escape the previous predicament, hm?” Chrollo inquired, sitting perched on a ledge of a two story building where the bottom half jutted out enough to give him enough room for a seat. He leaned forward, elbows on his knees as he spied one particularly long individual. A good question, but he considered the answer seeing as he had done the same.

Simply not a choice in the matter.

This one he’d seen before some time in the past. How much time actually passed? He couldn’t say. What’s surprising is the whole new setting. Chrollo smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. Just as quietly considering what he could do with this information.

Eto nods, now fully immersed in this line of conversation. She too thought similarly of the island, though she had made ties of her own. There was almost always something, or someone, entertaining to be found, and an author like herself was thankful for that.

“I’ve heard of people coming here and leaving, only to return some time later. Some have no memory of their prior stay, while others are unaware of how long they’ve been been away from here.”

“The most logical conclusion then is that this place– this particular pocket of reality– exists in its own timeline, outside of any other realities and their own individual timelines.”

“Then it is all just theories. I should watch the streets more often instead of wandering further from the city proper,” Chrollo replied. “Getting to know more people, seeing who leaves... Who comes back. Conduct a social experiment. After all, I have time.” He smiled, leaning back in his chair. Who knew when he’d be snatched back to his own timeline then, if that were the case. Then a thought crossed his mind.

“Something else to consider. Those people who claim they were dead before, brought back here completely alive. I’ve seen puppetry in the form of controlling the dead, but those are just dolls as it were, no coherent thought other than an order,” he reasoned, leaning forward again and resting his arms on one crossed leg. He’d done that before, controlling the dead, or rather a copy of the dead.

“You are quite knowledgeable on biblical scripture, I see. Do you know these verses by heart?”

     ALWAYS on the journey to expand his frame of reference, he’s been excited to support designers bringing influence from their own cultures to the runway. It’s appropriate that he should represent as well. No, he’s not designing anything (at least, not yet), though he has arrived in heels, a tight teal dress with shoulder pads that could kill a man, wide-brimmed hat pirched off kilter, and loud makeup to match. When he’s addressed while in careful consideration of how a fitting of a model is going, he tilts his head back in surprise at being recognized. Or, rather, addressed. Seems people are afraid of dresses.

“I’m thinking about it,” Chrollo replied with his very fake friendly smile. “It’s time to broaden my wardrobe since I’ll have an extended stay here in Spirale and where else can I explore but at a place that presents fashionable styles of many kinds?” He tilted his head back to look at Star Platinum, at his current set up. For someone has buff as he, the dress was an interesting choice.

Not that he should judge. He could probably pull off a dress with his own physique. Something he hasn’t tried yet and here he was willing to try anything once. It’s a consideration at most.

“This place has a habit of creating such terrible bad luck when visited, I’m just as surprised,” Chrollo admitted, head tilting just slightly to the right, his bangs falling over the tattoo in the middle of his forehead. He smiled after a moment. “That’s an interesting getup. Really fits the desolated apocalypse of this place. You trying to hide from someone?” It’s none of his business, his tone said that much.
