His name is Vasily, and the LI he goes with is Asra! Here we have his base outfit, plus his more layered traveling outfit.

This is how he looks post-resurrection (i.e. throughout the main story), after just enough physical change to not quite look like himself anymore.

I'm afraid most of these questions may not have very pleasant answers lmao

Vasily and Lucio have a very fraught relationship. I think that there might be a world out there where they could be friends, but that world IS NOT this one. Lucio just has this unending festering jealousy for Vasily, because he basically has everything that Lucio wants, and that hostility is open enough for Vasily to return it. Lucio would 110% take any opportunity he got to kill Vasily dead and take his body back. They also just have fundamentally different views: for example, Lucio would do anything to come back to life, meanwhile Vasily still doesn't really understand why he's alive at all (or IF he's actually alive or just mimicking life). But if I were to talk about a world in which they are friends, they would be absolute rat bastards. They're both competitive enough that they end up getting into it in a serious way on a very regular basis. The only problem is that most of the time, Vasily is better at whatever they're doing, which only makes Lucio angrier. Oh well.

As for Muriel, I've actually talked about this before, but they aren't really friends either. In the Asra route, we see Muriel being pretty standoffish towards the apprentice, and that's something I've taken to heart. Vasily doesn't have a problem with Muriel the way he does with Lucio, but Muriel sure does have a problem with him. Mostly springing from the fact that Vasily tends to unintentionally take up all of Asra's time and attention; they've got sort of an unhealthy codependency thing going on. Obviously Muriel doesn't take particularly kindly to someone essentially taking away his only friend. He doesn't think that Vasily and Asra's relationship is healthy, but neither of them want to hear any of that. After a while, Vasily and Muriel's relationship does sort of cool off, and they become friendlier. But mostly just because Asra doesn't like that the two most important people in his life don't like each other. Their relationship never really progresses past them needing to begrudgingly wear a get-along shirt whenever they're together.

Vasily's favorite familiar is an easy question to answer: it's Faust! It's a similar situation to him and Asra, where Faust has technically known him longer than he's known her. She looooves him, because Asra loves him. Naturally she'll most commonly be found slithering all over Asra, but if it isn't him, it's Vasily. A lot of the time they can be spotted sleeping in a pile all together.

I've actually talked about Vasily's familiar situation before, so I'm just going to add that answer here!

Anyway there IS a little mini significance to his bracelet but probably not in the way you think, it's really just that the bracelets on each of his wrists match Asra's necklaces! And I didn't want to make it EXACTLY exactly the same because that was a little too on the nose for my taste lol so I made it red, since he has a lot of red in his color palette! Which, to be fair, IS an allusion to the plague. So I guess you've got me there

As for whether he has a familiar, I talked about that a little in another post that I made but the gist of it is that no, he doesn't. I think that dying and being brought back to life really fucked him over in a lot of ways, especially in the soul area, and since familiars are a soul-related bond, he's not really able to bond with an animal anymore. One thing I did bring up in that post is that MAYBE if there was some other kind of super magically fucked up animal that he happened across, it could work, but that's purely hypothetical. Really, in my mind, Scout sort of acts as his familiar in a way? Not in the traditional sense, obviously, but in the sense that he and Scout are connected since his patron is the Fool.

But I imagine not having a familiar is something he sort of struggles with? Not necessarily in a 'feeling left out' kind of way, although that could be a small part of it, but more in an 'identity crisis' kind of way. Like, a 'he lies awake at night thinking "am I a real person anymore" and genuinely doesn't know the answer' kind of way. But that could be an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT post so I won't get into that right now hahahahaha

My friend isn't on Tumblr, but here are some things she wants you all to know:

Gwyndolina and Vasily are best friends in-universe

She is NOT the same apprentice who died in the plague; she survived it, Vasily died

She worked with Julian during the plague, but they didn't have a romantic relationship until after he returned to the city post-running away from Vesuvia

(So Gwyndolina and Vasily were apprenticing with Julian and Asra respectively at the same time!)

She's very prim and proper and maybe a little snooty, but Julian brings out her fun/chaotic side
