"Seriously, kid, you gotta be more careful than this," Sonic tutted. He was kneeled on the floor in front of Tails, wrapping the fox's injured ankle with bandages. Tails whined from above him where he sat on the couch, namesakes twitching in discomfort as his leg was prodded at.
"That should hold until tomorrow, then we can go see Vanilla, alright?"
"No doctor?" Tails perked up.
"Not necessarily," Sonic shook his head, eyeing a few scratches on his little brother's arms. He stood up and slid next to the fox on the couch, carefully taking one arm into his hands to poke at the cuts. "Vanilla has training, yeah, but if there's something serious up with your ankle, we're headed to the emergency room."
As much as he trusted Vanilla, when it came to his little brother, he'd rather a genuine professional treat him. Some might say it was hypocritical of him, seeing as he refused to visit a doctor himself, but he at least understood his limits. Tails, being a young teen, didn't quite get his limits yet, despite his high intellect.
Tails frowned at him, pouting dramatically as if that would change Sonic's mind. The hedgehog rolled his eyes with a smile, instead focusing all his attention on the cuts and scrapes littering the arm he had in front of him.
"I'll patch you up, and then we can have some cocoa, how about that?" He said, beginning to carefully bandage the injuries, along with some antibiotic cream to prevent any infections.
"Really!?" Tails immediately lit up. Cocoa was a rarity in their house, so the prospect of getting a mug quickly brightened his mood.
"Sure, kid," Sonic smiled, ruffling Tails' bangs with a chuckle. "Anything for you."
