Anonymously tell me your feelings for me.
It doesnât have to be romantic (though if you did feel that way, itâd be perfectly fine). Just how you feel in general. I get curious of peopleâs impressions of me.
Rolling his eyes, Barrel tried to pull himself up again, only succeeding in adding to the scrapes on his arms. âWell to bad, you donât have a camera so you canât. Now come on  Jack, are you going to help me or not?â Frowning a bit, Barrel sighed. âI was supposed to meet up with Lock and Shock here. But, Iâm pretty sure Lock just threw me in then left me. And Shock is no where to be found.â It took a few minutes more before Barrel was finally out of the water and laying on the dock. âI hate this.â He huffed.
jack let this go one for just a few more seconds. i mean, it was barrel for godâs sake. the selicks were always up to no good and for once, one of them needed his help. âsuch a shame, right?â he glanced down at his wet clothes and sighed. âsounds like a lock thing to do. this is why you guys canât be trusted.â he shrugged his jacket off and wrapped it around the boy. âyou shouldâve known they were just trying to trick you. i mean the dock? really?â
boy, was he about to start something he didnât plan on in the first place. it was pretty obvious as to what the answer was going to be for that question, but it seemed as though he was sticking to the path of naivety. perhaps he truly didnât know what h was setting himself up for. but quinn really couldnât care less. she needed her errands done, and it would be now or never. âwell, I could think of a couple of things right off the bat, but.. weâve only just met. so, Iâm going to have to stick with the obvious answer.â she turned her head toward the mess of garments piled up beside them on the love seat, hoping he would fill in the blank sheâd drawn.
jack narrowed his eyes and waited for her next move. but it was blatantly obvious that he was only going to make a good first impression only by being her personal assistant. but hey, helping someone out never harmed jack before. he chewed on his lip, a small grin plastered on his face. âyour wish is my command, i suppose.â he plopped down on the seat next to her, picking up a few garments. âhow does one acquire this many clothes? i maybe have like 10 outfits.â he teased.
her eyebrows furrowed together ,   â  couldnât you make an exception ,  just this once?? â  it wasnât that difficult ,  all he had to have done was let her know he would be stopping by .  the fact that he decided to  s m o k e right in front of her wasnât helping much either ,  but it did steal a heavy sigh of frustration from her berry - colored lips .  he wasnât acting like his normal self ,  && sally knew she was to blame  â  perhaps the reason wasnât clear ,  yet that was merely a detail .  â  there wasnât aâ ⌠what ?? â  incredulousness took over her sculpted features ,  a sudden discomfort crawling up her spine .  jack skellington ,  the king of celebrations ,  skipped a holiday ?? the thought was hard to process ,  && after lingering on the green - filled box for a few seconds ,  her gaze met his own .  â  i - it wasnât because of me ,  right ??  jack ,  when i told you i didnât know if i would be able to go ,  it wasnât because i didnât want to .  i know how much these things mean to you ,  iâ  â  she trailed off ,  hands nervously tucking  red curls behind her ears .   â  i - i actually wanted to talk to you about  something  ;  it has to do with  ⌠ with us  â  i mean ,  not that there is an â us â  but ⌠ â
jack never understood why she was so weary about having people over. but she never really explained it so why should he respect her rules? he didnât know why he was so upset with her but all he knew was he couldnât even look at her.  âno sally.. there wasnât.â he finally met her eyes with an icy stare. âconsidering youâre one of my best friends.. it may have have something to do with that.â he didnât want to admit it, but he constantly craved sallyâs approval, even over the simplest things. when she mentioned she needed to talk to him, he simply laughed and looked around. âfine. letâs talk. should we take this conversation elsewhere?âhe leaned against the railing and simply stared at her.

when the doorbell rang ,  it was almost as if the redheadâs heart skipped a beat .  had sally been the religious type ,  she would have prayed to all the gods in the world not to let finklestein be distracted by the sound  â  however ,  her beliefs began / ended  with karma ,  so she did nothing but hope .  the girl couldnât recall inviting anyone to come over (  she would be crazy to do such a thing !!  )  ,  && the mad scientist upstairs didnât seem to have much of a social circle either ,  so who could it be ??  noticing no movement made from upstairs ,  besides a grunt of annoyance &&  the impatient way he spoke when telling her to go see who it was ,  sally was quick to move towards the front door ,  her brown eyes growing wide at the much taller figure .  â  â  JACK ??  whatâ what are you doing here ,  are you okay ??  â  glancing back inside the house to make sure there would be no disturbance ,  she stepped outside && closed the door .  â  you canât just come here like this ,  you know ⌠ you could have texted me or called .  â
once the door opened, it was blatantly obvious that sally was stressed. she always told jack now to come to finklesteinâs home, but he was never keen on social cues. rather than being his nice, apologetic self, he simply stood there with an eyebrow raised. what was the worse that could happen? âoh ms. elfman.. you know i hardly use my phone.â he dropped the box on the porch while taking one long drag. his eyes were lifeless, unphased by her tone. âthis wonât take long.â he muttered, kicking the box towards her with his foot. âfigured youâd want this stuff.. yâknow since there wasnât a party.â rather than tossing the cigarette to the side, he slowly crushed the top with his forefinger and thumb, slightly wincing. even though he was avoiding sally, it did bother him that she didnât think to reach out. not even once. this was a side of him that hadnât come out in a while, but sally managed to bring the pumpkin king out.
@girlrags
ever since their last conversation, jack went out of his way to avoid sally all because she said she couldnât attend his st. patrickâs day party. in fact, he hadnât really talked to anyone. he was so distraught about the whole ordeal that he decided to cancel it altogether. if his best friend didnât want to come, why would anyone else want to? it was probably immature on his part, but jack was hard-headed sometimes. well, most of the time. and this was a prime example of that. now he had a bunch of green decorations laying around, untouched. sure he could save them for next year, but he didnât believe in recycling decorations. it would ruin his fun. but he knew sally would find good use for them. with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, he rang her doorbell and waited patiently.

âWhat you think this is funny!â Barrel yelled as he tried to pull himself up onto the dock. The weight of his now soaked clothes was making the task very difficult. âYou just gonna stand there and watch me struggle or are you going to help me up?â He questioned the figure that was looming around the scene.Â
âjust another minute.. this is too good.â jack grinned, trying to hold back his laughter. honestly, he was surprised to see barrel on this part of town. the selicks were always in new holland up to no good. perhaps oogie put him up to this. before he helped the young boy, he took one more good look. âyâknow i wish i had my camera or something, this is priceless!â he kneeled down and slowly pulled him out of the water. he glanced around quickly- no sight of lock or shock. âwhat happened to you?â

âbrown? someoneâs favorite color? i donât think so!â anna was glad that she was smiling again. it felt so much better. of course, that didnât mean her problems were gone, they were still there- always were, always would be. but for the moment, she didnât have to think about anything except brown, which was easy. âi donât know! i donât think i even own any brown clothes. i mean, brown and black donât go together, and a lot of people wear a lot of black, which basically just pushes brown out of the options for wearable colors!â she shrugged, completely agreeing with him on that. brown was certainly not her color, she always felt like it clashed with her hair color. âyeah, i mean, each day is easier i feel like. then somedays you wake up and it feels like the day it happened all over again.â she sighed, nervously tucking a strand of her long, red hair behind her ear. âno, i havenât. elsa says i shouldnât go into that area alone. i mean- no offense! iâm sure itâs a nice area, just- um, you know! itâs got a reputation, and my sister says i shouldnât go alone, especially at night. so, i donât usually adventure around there, but maybe i should!â she did consider it, nice quiet places for her sounded wonderful. âitâs not like i really listen to elsa allthat oftenâŚâ she mumbled, a light giggle leaving her lips at the idea of it.
âcrazy, right?! maybe thatâs why they make scarecrows wear it.â although this conversation wasnât a permanent solution, jack was still glad he could take her mind off of things. at least for a little bit. âbut it is also considered a fall color, right? we sort of associate it with thanksgiving.â he shrugged and continued to laugh along with her. new holland was always a taboo subject around carthay. sure it did have a reputation, but thatâs what made it stand out right? it certainly wasnât as bright and cheerful as the other places around here. in fact, it had this overall creepy feeling to it. it always seemed to be dark and cynical all the time, the woods especially. get lost in there and you wonât make it out for days. but all of those things made jack adore it more. ânone taken. itâs not everyoneâs cup of tea. but you should definitely made it out there when you get a chance.â he paused and turned to her dramatically. â-if you have the guts. well elsa seems to be a little protective..â
âDoes it look like Iâm kidding?â, Atta pointed to her serious face. Jack Skellington was City Hallâs favorite event coordinator, even after the Christmas fiasco. âCome on, we need something to make the people happy, whatâs wrong with an awards viewing party? It could be done with sporting events, or just movies. Ask the restaurants for food, local shops to help decorate⌠but youâre the expert, what do you think?â
being an event coordinator meant jack basically lived at city hall. it also meant that he dealt with the mceneryâs a lot. he adored attaâs mother. it was someone he respected a lot but he didnât really know atta all too well. all he knew was she always seemed to be antsy, one that was never settled. even though he was older than her, he always felt like she was his babysitter, especially after his last stunt. he narrowed his eyes and rested his head on his hand, listening intently. he always loved hearing new ideas, and this one wasnât bad. âhuh. a themed party based around it? sounds pretty alright to me. only if itâs a black tie event. weâd have to stick with the theme, obviously. iâm still liking the nacho idea but we need like- fancy foods. what do they eat? then again- iâve never seen them eat at awards. if it were me, iâd sneak snacks in.â he laughed at himself, thoughts shifting for a moment.

â⌠what Iâm saying is that restaurants and bars are completely missing out, Oscar viewing parties would be so popular, and imagine how many people would want nachosâ, Atta sipped on her sweet tea as she waited for a table to be free, the restaurant was packed. âplus, itâs a Sunday, the business is low on Sundaysâ.Â
âoscar viewing parties? are you kidding me?â he scoffed and shook his head. jack never really saw the appeal of award shows and pop culture in general. he never really kept up with actors actresses, or the latest movies. but he pondered the idea of them for another moment before bashing it altogether. âit sounds better than sporting events, i guess. and everyone would have to dress up like theyâre going to the oscar. serve fancy appetizers and drinks.â he laughed and shrugged. âi like the idea.. mainly because of the nachos. sell cheese fries and iâm sold on it.â

Berlioz danced into the room, sliding across the floor with a big smile on his face. ââGuess who just got an A on his composing project, as well as a free pizza?ââ He asked no one in particular. In reality, he was just addressing the room fishing for compliments in true Berlioz fashion; ââIâll give you a hint. Itâs also the answer to the question; Who has two thumbs and looks like the cat who got the damn cream..ââ
jack was sprawled out on a couch, reading another stephen king novel. his eyes met berliozâs when he slid into the room. he started to congratulate him but he stopped once he heard the word âpizzaâ from there, he began a slow clap while his eyes searched for the food. âthat sounds great. love to hear it sometime but iâm not gonna lie, you had me at free pizza and now iâm a little bit more interested in that now.â
anna finally smiled as jack turned the conversation around, glad that he did. âyou know what? i totally agree.â she lowered her voice, as if the fact that brown dresses were usually ugly was a big secret. although she didnât know him well, he seemed kind. quieter than her ( most people were ), but still very kind. almost like elsa, but also very different. anna wasnât sure exactly how to place him, but she knew that he was someone nice and thatâs what mattered. âyeah, i mean, it was quite a while ago now, but it still⌠sucks.â she sighed, lacking a better way to put it. âi just donât know how to talk about it, is all, so itâs easier not to.â anna nodded, glad he seemed to understand. âyeah, sometimes. i like to go a lot of places. this is one of my favorite spots.â she had climbed this very hill just the other day with a friend. up high, the city below them, watching the sunset. it was nice, anna was much happier then. she always felt happy up here, so she figured sheâd take the hike. it was always nice to get some fresh air. ânew holland? is that where you live?â the girl had never really been in new holland, at least, not alone. she always thought it might be fun to explore, although she knew some considered it to be dangerous, so she found herself playing it safe. she was sure that if elsa found out she was wandering new holland alone, sheâd be in some big trouble.
a small sense of relief washed over jack when anna finally smiled. he lowered his voice to match hers as he chuckled a bit, continuing on with the banter. âcome to think of it, iâve never heard of brown being anyoneâs favorite color.. so why do they make clothes that color?â even though he stumbled into her at a low point, he could still feel the positivity radiating off of her. she just seemed to have this bright, joyful spirit. âthey say time heals things but that may be a different case when you lose someone so close to you. i get it.â he gives her another encouraging smile while he looked out at the breathtaking view. although new holland was his home (which he took great pride in that), it was nice to find places that cleared his head. he nodded , eyes still fixated on the city below. âindeed. have you been there? lot of quiet places for you to go. itâs nice.â
