Someone had the balls to say "when you and Chris become more serious" to me the other day. And still, still it bugs me. For soooo many reason it bugs me. First, Chris just graduated. We both JUST got full time jobs in the past 9 months. So no, I'm not going to rush out of my house, where neither of us have to pay rent, to get myself and Chris into a difficult financial setting. Second, everyone thinks since we've been together as long as we have we should have been engaged years ago. I'll let you in on a secret, IM the one who wants to wait. But that's not to say if Chris asked tomorrow I wouldn't say yes. We're so in love, I don't need a ring on my finger to know how much he cares about me. The countless times he makes me laugh, or the pretty flowers he brings me, or how he always seems to know when I need to hear from him during the day, that's how I know he loves me. Not because he'll spend hundreds of dollars on a ring. I'd love to live with him, move out and be in our own little world, but we're smart. We're saving, so that everything we want, we will get. He knows I love city views, or that I want a balcony and more then one bed room in our place, he's told me he's going to give me everything I desire because he's a great man. But we won't get there if we rush. We want to travel the world together, see all the beauty the world has to offer. I'd rather see the world with my amazing boyfriend and create unforgettable memories then rush off to buy a house and get married. My other favourite thing is when people ask us about kids, and we openly tell them we do not want any. The reaction is always the same, "but you're so good with them!" "You'll change your mind!" "Sometimes you don't plan it but you'll love it when it happens." People can't just be content with what we as a couple might want. Maybe we will change our minds, but that's a big maybe. We found something irreplaceable with each other. We've been mad about each other for 12 years now, he's always been my biggest fan, and I his. We listen to each other, help each other when we need it, are always on each other side, we never forget to appreciate each other. We still surprise each other and keep each other on our toes. Even after 12 years he can't keep his hands off me, and never lets me forget how beautiful he think I am. So even if we're not "serious" enough for you, we're serious enough for each other and that's all that matters. xx
