can't believe someone caught this in like the week it was up dude though, genuinely got so embarrassed when i realized and SLAMMED the delete button, haha.

It’s a fundamentally different medium which means you treat it differently. You use your imagination to picture the descriptions in a book, you let yourself be fooled by the cgi in movies, you immerse yourself rather than bawking at it the moment you hear them reply to nothing because it’s considered cringe.

And like any medium, the quality varies. There are amazing creators and amateurs, but because it takes so little budget, it’s largely amateurs. And I love that, it’s an incredible way for people to tell stories, get into voice acting, etc.

Being a roleplay asmr enjoyer is so, like, not embarrassing, but if someone brings it up in conversation, you just have to sit there and shut up because WHATEVER they’re about to say isn’t gonna.. be very opened minded.

And it sucks because ITS GOOD. Not only for comfort, but it’s entertaining. Like cmon, there’s Redacted, theres Escaped Audios, there’s Yuurivoice, there’s Desmond asmr, Obsidian Lantern, Mage Bunkshelf, Reverie Audios, Castleaudios (Claire mommy), and so, SO many more great creators who practically make shows and the whole entire genre of content is dumbed down to “cringy boyfriend/girlfriend asmr/goon asmr”

Guess who’s been doodling a-lot recently!! Have not been doing great with mental health lately due to life stuff, but hopefully I’ll be back to normal somewhat soon!✨✨✨✨

First 3 doodles were a listener swap sort idea I had…god all of my listeners are so insufferable I love them all dearly. 

And the other 2 were me thinking of Sawyer and Arley, as always, but finally actually getting enough motivation to draw! Also Arley alt outfit reveal!! They’d probably wear it post episode 2 of agow because the way they dragged carried Sawyer made it so that their cool ghost hunting jacket got stained. So technically not an outfit change…but just them taking off a layer of clothes???✨✨✨✨✨✨

I got into audios strictly as a collaborator. I was a writer and editor long before I was a voice actor. I made friends that way. Part of the joy of creating was sharing my ideas with VAs and getting excited with them as we built the raw inspiration into a completed work.

I've met long-term friends through collaborating, I've had my work elevated by the performances and visuals contributed by voice actors and illustrators. I've helped other people grow and been helped in turn. Being part of a community is so much more valuable than being able to turn out audios slightly faster.

I absolutely LOVE Sol’s series, so I was shocked when I realised that I hadn’t done any art of it yet. I decided to try my hand at designing my listener and finally landed on this goober. Their name is Evelyn but they much prefer being called Vee by people they’re close to. Definitely gonna draw them and Sol together at some point soon!!✨✨
