Softshell turtles.

Softshell turtles are usually ambush predators, that sit down in the sand or silt and wait for fish, crayfish, and other prey to go by.

They prefer to stay down in the silt, and extent their long necks and snorkel like noses to the surface to get a breath of air, without being detected by other creatures nearby.

Red Worm Lizard aka White-bellied Worm Lizard (Amphisbaena alba), family Amphisbaenidae, found in much of South America

These animals are secretive, and rarely seen. Little is known of their habits and natural history.

They feed on a wide variety of items, including small animals, fruits and flowers.

The females are larger, and reach a max. length of up to 80 cm (31.5 in).

Egg-laying (oviparous).

Will burrow into leaf cutter ant mounds (sometimes laying their eggs there).

They have the largest geographical distribution of all the amphisbaenians (worm lizards).

This species has a tough layer of flexible scales that help protect the skin from other animals.

Off the top of my head, there are some cool African caecilians, such as...

São Tomé Caecilian (Schistometopum thomense), family Dermophiidae, endemic to São Tomé and Ilhéu das Rolas (Africa)

"Cobra Bobo"

Grows to a max length of up to 30 cm (12 in).

Associated with moist soils in forests and coconut plantations.

Caecilians are amphibians, like salamanders and frogs.

They are not worms, nor are they snakes.

I have an autistic coworker who used to say really uncomfortable things to museum guests while making small talk. like bringing up active, controversial revolutions in their countries if they were international, and such. finally, after a group of Hawaiian guys got visibly angry when he asked if they were "in the military or just rich" to be able to live there- meant to be a cost of living joke -I said, "hey, personally, I try not to talk politics with guests. sometimes it may upset them and we don't get paid enough to deal with that"

he looked thoughtful and said, "oh, I never considered it that way." turns out he was just a geopolitics nerd and didn't realize people might react emotionally to what he saw as a purely intellectual discussion
