blackadder goes forth + textposts

that final "good luck, everyone", that tone of forlornness, the entire delivery of "who would notice another madman around here?", the fact that blackadder was seemingly protective of everyone in the final season makes me wonder. if we could really meet blackadder, would he truly be that heartless and insincere, horrible little man we know and love? if the lens of a comedy was shattered, would he just be tired yet charming, all while grappling with the frustration of being stuck in the middle of a hierarchy with a tone of sincerity and true love for the world, while still being a rude, snarky, asshole of a man?
