Stranded
June 3rd, 2016
She loved the beach. Warm sand between her toes, hot breeze washing over her⦠What she hadnāt expected was to turn into a cast away. The island wasnāt large, she had noticed that when she was still in the water, drifting further away from the smoking wreckage that had been her brotherās piece of crap boat. The young woman flopped back in the sand, lying there beneath the heat of the sun, soaked and exhausted. Olivia Maxwell didnāt know what she had expected, letting her brother take her on a surprise joyride⦠Where was he anyway? A sudden panic gripped the young woman who sat up so fast her head spun, scrambling to her feet, despite the way her muscles quaked from the strain of the swim.
āJASON!ā Her voice cracked halfway through the shout of her big brotherās name but she pushed, staring out towards the black, billowing smoke and then up and down the beach. Nothing, not a sight or sound over the waves lapping at the short and the call of hungry gulls above her head. Cursing under her breath, she turned away from the water, vegetation greeted her, thick and lush. She didnāt know much about survival, just the things she watched on Discovery Channel and Animal Planet and she highly doubted that was going to help her now⦠Fresh water, shelter, food, and her brother. Those were her top priorities right now, beyond hoping that something useful might wash up on shore. For now, she couldnāt just sit around and hope for the best.

So the inspiration for this? A combination of weird dreams and the urge to go to the beach. Thatās it, no secrets here haha
See you next time~
