Things for littles or caregivers to do on sad days
Some of these might be weird but they all have explanations, bear with me. Also, they're not in any particular order, it's just a list for everyone
Clean your room- I know, I know, cleaning is no fun but most of the times when we're having sad days and aren't productive, we feel bad that we weren't productive. And if that doesn't happen to you, not only does it give your mind something else to think about but I guarantee you'll feel better once you're in a clean environment. And you can always listen to music
Make a nest or fort- Nests and forts or even a hiding place you might have in your Ikea shelf bed are perfect for sealing the outside world away. If you share a room, please ask your roommate to leave your fort alone and if they're not respective of that, nests are more discreet
Hug your stuffies- Yes, even you caregivers. You can have a stuffie as a caregiver, they're not just for littles. Some people have stuffies and don't even know what age regression is. But when you're sad, your stuffies get sad too so you guys have to hug until you feel better. If you have more than 1, be sure to rotate or hug more than 1 at once
Talk to your stuffie- Your stuffie is there to help YOU. That's YOUR comfort object so you can use them as your own personal therapist if you want (please try to get a real one if you need to, stuffies aren't great problem solvers). If you don't feel like talking, babble or have them read your mind
Eat yummy foods- If eating food doesn't help or food is the reason you're having a bad day or maybe you're sick, skip this part (though, please try to eat when you can). You can make soup or cereal or yogurt or Mac and cheese or chicken nuggets, whatever you want, it's your sad day. Don't eat too many sweets and try not to overstuff yourself
Drink plenty of liquids- It can be juice or water or milk (make sure to meet the 8-10 cups of water a day requirement). Soda probably isn't the best for little ones but caregivers, feel free as long as you're responsible. Definitely drink water if you've been crying to avoid dehydration headaches which brings me to my next point
Cry- I know what you're thinking but crying helps. You don't have to cry in front of anyone but if you feel like you have to, just let it out. Crying releases gross toxins that stress makes that could get you sick so it's scientifically proven that crying is good
Please please please take a break- Don't do ANY WORK. Unless it's something you enjoy as a hobby like diying pacifiers or making bracelets, don't do it. And don't do it to fill out any orders, you'll stress yourself out. If you feel like you need something to do to distract you, try coloring or playing out a fairytale with your dolls or racing trucks or building towers with blocks
Rest- Take a nap, try to get a full 8-10 hours of sleep, whatever you need to do to feel better. You don't even have to sleep, just relax
Take a bubble bath- Yes, it has to be a bubble bath. Shampoo or body wash can make bubbles if you don't have bubble bath solution. Add toys if you want to and can, some of your stuffies can even take baths with you (make sure they can by reading the tags). You can even add a face mask to make it more fun. Then, sink in and relax

💖 Do you ever just imagine your fav/comfort character/OC regressing reeeeal smol? Do you just see them toddling around their home with a paci in their mouth and their favorite stuffie being held close as they look for their CG? Unsure where they are? 🤱🏽 How to be Your Own Caregiver 🤱🏽
Hi babies! Many of us are what’s known as Independant Regressors, which are regressors who don’t need or want a CG! Many of us also just don’t have a CG at the moment, but we aren’t necessarily independant regressors. Either way, sometimes we find ourselves in a position without someone to care for us, so here are some ways to act as your own CG!
Set up a daily schedule! You don’t have to plan out every hour of your day but a solid morning and a bedtime routine is a really good start! I find it easiest to physically write down my schedule on a piece of paper, but you can also set up alarms or reminders on your phone! There are also some really helpful apps like TimeBloc that let you set up your schedule for the day/week and then send you reminders!
Remind yourself to stay hydrated! There are apps that turn proper hydration into a game, my personal favourite is Plant Nanny! You can also set up alarms or reminders on your phone throughout the day to drink water! Don’t forget to put it in a bottle, sippy or a cute cup, that makes it twice as fun to stay hydrated!
Set up a reward system for yourself! At the beginning of the week make a list of all the chores you need to do by the end of the week, and give yourself a sticker every time you complete a task! Set a goal for how many stickers you want to collect by the end of the week, and once you get all the stickers treat yourself to something special like a movie or your favourite candy or maybe even a new stuffie!
Bedtime stories! There are agere asmr accounts on youtube such as rileyslittlespace that post all kinds of content from cg videos to story time videos to educational videos! You can find a video with a story you like to listen to before bedtime! If you have an A.I. assistant such as a google home or an Alexa then you can ask them to read you a bedtime story or a princess story! ex. “hey google, read me a bedtime story please” and they’ll read you a random fairy tale story! (I have a google home mini and my personal favourite is the Firefly Princess! Just say “hey google, read The Firefly Princess please!” to listen to it)
Plan little trips for yourself! Every once in awhile it’s nice to take a small trip and treat yourself! This can be a trip to the park or the playground, a trip to a build-a-bear or a toy store! Just somewhere small and fun that you maybe don’t get to go to regularly! Think of it like a regression field trip!
Make sure you eat enough throughout the day! Be sure to eat at least once a day! If you have trouble remembering to eat you can set up alarms or reminders on the phone! Create a list of cute little meals you can make to make mealtime more fun! Be sure you eat fruits and vegetables at least once a day! Candy is yummy but if you only eat candy it will make your tummy hurt!
