I forgot to post that Kai and I did make it back home early yesterday morning 🇺🇸 Thanks to Kai's dad for picking us up at the Omaha airport and delivering us safely home! ❤ We basically slept all day yesterday, because we were still on Greece time 😂 But it was nice because we have much kitty cuddles to catch up on <3 It was wonderful Greece! Last full day in Athens 😭 Today was a super chill day. Slept in, had breakfast and coffee at a cafe, shopped around the Plaka district, explored some nearby sights, and enjoyed some much needed butter chicken at an Indian restaurant ❤ Oh and I had little fish eat dead skin off my feet, which was a strangely satisfying experience. Kai did NOT want to try it out 😂 We will be flying from Athens straight to Atlanta, Georgia tomorrow afternoon, then from Atlanta to home. We will miss Greece tremendously, because it was perfect in every way, but we are ready to go home, cuddle our cats, and try again at the wedding thing 😂 Thank you Greece for spoiling us Nebraskans beyond anything we could have ever imagined 🇬🇷 (at Athens, Greece) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfXRGsdI4pS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Days 1 and 2 back in Athens! We felt much more comfortable and familiar returning to our stomping grounds after spending a few days away! We took a ferry from Santorini to Athens and didn't do too much on Day 1 other than checked into our hotel in the Plaka district, which is super small but super cute! Plus we get to enjoy a patio and rooftop views of Athens! On Day 2, we took a day trip/tour to Delphi, where the ruins of the Temple of Apollo and Artemis were! We learned about the Oracle of Delphi and visited the Delphi Archaeological Museum. Days 2 and 3 on Santorini! Day 2: We mainly relaxed in our suite but did venture out to explore the Imeriovigli area. Ate lunch and dinner at local restaurants, breakfast via room service, and enjoyed another gorgeous sunset from our balcony <3 Day 3: We again enjoyed breakfast via room service, then walked down to the Thera area to browse shops and cafes. Then we had lunch at the 4 Seasons, and relaxed at our suite until our wine tour! We toured three wineries on Santorini with a group of people and thoroughly enjoyed the local wares 😂 We had such a fun time chatting with fellow Americans, and even other Midwesterners who were all on their honeymoon! Day 1 in Santorini! 🇬🇷 (I love using the Greek flag emoji, if you couldn't tell) We left Athens early in the morning and cruised on a ferry for many hours until we reached Santorini! It is quite different from both Corfu and Athens! It's not as green as Corfu because it's a dryer climate. But it's definitely not as busy as Athens, and it's smaller than the island of Corfu.... BUT IT HAS THE BEST VIEWS!!! We checked into our suite and have yet to leave our room...because why would you with this view, room service, and a private hot tub? We will be here for three nights, so we will eventually leave our room...maybe 😂 Edit: I forgot to mention my pork belly dinner made me cry, because it tasted unlike anything I've ever had before 😭 (at Gold Suites Santorini) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfKPFgRIakC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Day two in Athens! In summary, we had an incredibly productive day and have a million photos 😂 We went on a five hour tour of the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Plaka district, the National Garden, Agora, the Temple of Zeus, the Odeion, Zappeion Hall, the Panathenaic Stadium, and the Theatre of Dionysus! Phew! Then afterwards, we snacked on kataifi and macarons, then later had deliciously fresh sardines and sea bass for dinner! HUGE shout out to our tour guide, @anastasios_tourguide ! He was our hero! He has a true passion for Greek history and made our tour a fully enriching experience! We will sadly be leaving early tomorrow to take a ferry to our next stop, Santorini! We made it to Athens! 🇬🇷 Quite the change of pace from our peaceful island getaway on Corfu! Bustling streets, food and stores around every corner, and lots of people! Reminds me of a cleaner and safer New York City 😂 We are staying at a small modern hole-in-the-wall hotel right in the heart of Athens. Before checking in, we ate tasty gyros, and then traveled on the metro to visit the National Archeological Museum and it was amazing to see such breathtaking history! Last full day in Corfu 😭 We are super sad having to leave literal paradise, but we are excited to travel to Athens tomorrow! Today, I did a sun salutation yoga class in the morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet (as per usual), then headed into Corfu Town! We shopped at so many fun stores, enjoyed gelato and freddo espresso, and soaked in all the culture and the sights! Then we went back to the resort, enjoyed room service for lunch, then chilled ny the pool until we had to get ready for dinner. While walking back from dinner, we stumbled upon a "white beach party" where people dressed in white and partied! Not expected on a Monday night 😂 In summary, our last day in Corfu was perfect in every way and we will miss it dearly <3 But we are so hyped to experience Athens!
