In the past couple of weeks, the CS:GO scene has been getting involved with some drama regarding a couple popular youtubers, TmarTn and ProSyndicate. According to h3h3Productions, TmarTn and Syndicate were the owners of a CSGO betting site, CSGOLotto. TmarTn and Syndicate never disclosed this information while advertising their site by making videos of them winning large quantities of money by betting on their own site, CSGOLotto. According to h3h3, it is illegal to advertise a business on video without disclosing that you are being sponsored, or in this case, own the business itself.

“Myself and a few other people, including Tom(ProSyndicate), own CSGOLotto and this is something that has never been a secret.”  - TmarTn.

In his videos where he is betting on CSGOLotto, he never discloses that he in fact owns the site with ProSyndicate anywhere in the video or the description. Also, in TmarTn’s LinkedIn page, nowhere does it say that he owns part of CSGOLotto. Also, since they both own the site, they have access to changing the odds of who wins, so they may have also rigged the betting system in their favor while recording their videos.

Shortly after this information got out, JoshOG and PsiSyndicate revealed that they do own assets of CSGOLotto and did make videos of CSGOLotto without disclosing the fact that they shared equity interest or that they were sponsored by them.

TmarTn than went on to make an apology video but quickly deleted after all the negative feedback it received.

“I do own the site now. I didn’t back then. At that point it was a feeler video to see if my viewers would enjoy that type of content.” - TmarTn

He also contacted a popular youtuber by the name of Scarce saying that he did not own CSGOLotto at the time of making the videos of him betting on the site. However, the charter shows that he is the original owner of the site.

A Florida woman filed a lawsuit against Valve on behalf of her son as a complaint of CSGOLotto owners, Trevor Martin(TmarTn) and Tom Cassel(ProSyindicate). The reason being is because they believe that Valve is allowing these third party sites such as CSGOLotto to promote gambling.

This news should teach us not to believe everything we see on the internet and know that things may be too good to be true.
