South African Sushi Maki. 🍱 This is Biltong and Cucumber sushi maki. This recipe makes 6 maki rolls and 1 tower roll. 1 1/2 cups ready made sushi rice (there will be enough rice to make more sushi) ((Will post rice recipe soon)) 1/2 cucumber 100g biltong powder or Biltong cut into strips. 1 sheet sushi nori. 50ml biltong flavoured cream cheese. Will post a note with the method. Pretty straight forward. 💪🔪

So this week I started my industry training at The Cape Sun hotel In the beautiful city of Cape Town. Last night was my first ever banquet for 250 people. We served a standard main and a vegetarian main. The standard main was pressed shoulder of lamb with assorted veg. Meilie rissoto and croquettes. Served with a beautiful gravy. The vegetarian main was gnochi in a cashew nut and basil pesto sauce. Topped with pine nuts, fried carrot sticks, rocket and parmesan. Amd garnished with exquisite dried vine tomotoes. All together It was lovely and a great first experience. I am truly privileged to be working with the chefs here at the cape Sun. And am looking forward to the rest of my time here. And the many others things im going to learn.
