Sod Roofs

Behold! Sod roofs! I’ve always loved the look of sod roofs/turf roofs, and yesterday I was suddenly struck with the realization that with the new roof recolor ability in S4S, I could at least have a couple of these cuties in my game!

There is only one texture, as finding a seamless grass pattern that went well with the game style was very difficult, but it does come in 5 realistic colors! There is a functioning normal/bump map, and I reduced the shine from the specular as much as I could. There still is a noticeable gleam from the sunlight, but it might just be a permanent feature of roofs, or it might be beyond my skill set, since 4 days ago I had never touched build or buy mode content.

Because these are roofs, they are just a flat texture, and are nowhere near as fluffy and fabulous as real sod roofs. But! It’s super easy to just grab some shrubs and place them in the attic space of your build, and let them poke through the roof to make it look a bit more natural.

I was contacted a few weeks ago by someone from The Sims team & I declined their offer. They would not share any information with me without signing an NDA which I didn't do, so I finally got to find out what this was all about last night from the above post and community discussions.

My heart goes out to the simmers who are thoroughly disappointed in the direction things are going. I am too. Outsourcing all new content to CC makers from here on out under permanent paywall that their own terms of use forbids isn't my cup of tea. Like, where's the love for their player base? And why the loss of passion and creativity from TS4 when the community still felt like so much was missing?

I, like many others, was also really hoping so much for bands one day and could see so clearly in my head how it could be implemented with code they already use so it wouldn't even be that hard for them to do. I also see many people mentioning hotels. But, I know that there exists already a lot of CC for these things, if anyone needs help finding some right here on Simblr, don't hesitate to send me a message.

I saw another simmer mention in a post comment last night, that they enjoy this game by making it their own personal canvas (@warmsol 🌞), and I couldn't agree more. & my gameplay is overwhelmingly influenced by the loads of CC from our lovely community of talented creators.

So anyway, I will be here making CC the same as I have been.

Sorry for the GIFs, but I have no idea how to show all the textures w/o using it. And I know, I know, it's a very long post with lots of pictures, yet it took me over two months to create these 693 wallpapers [ and not overload my OCD with the whole process, which was tough ] so I guess you can spare a second of your time to scroll through this long post if you're not interested. Pray for your understanding.

The set consists of three sub-sets. The Vintage one includes wooden panels in my extended palette and matching vintage wallpaper: for the entire wall, with the wainscot, full wallpaper panels and half-panels. The Botanical includes brightly colored panels and matching wallpaper with botanical patterns, it comes in same 4 types as the Vintage one. And the Damask Silk is a set of 6 wallpapers: with three different types of damask patterns [ matching with my furniture color palettes ] and with black, white and wood trim or wainscot.

All the wallpapers are seamless murals and they fit the walls of any heigh. There are tall and medium walls on the preview, but the texture is properly resized and scaled to fit all three wall sizes, so there won’t be any ugly distortion. Damask silk walls have slight gloss since they are supposed to be made, well, of silk. The resolution of the textures is quite high and ofc normal and specular maps are included.

Base Game Addon (Pt. 2) - Public Release

Hello! Here is Part 2 of my Base Game Addon! This is another large set which focuses on improving the Base Game build/buy experience. This is fully Base Game Compatible as the name suggests!

You'll find many new archways to go with the various existing doors in the game, making it easier than ever to find an archway that matches! There's also new gates for some fences which previously didn't have a matching gate (and some 1 tile versions of a few 2 tile wide gates). A few new modular curtain sets are also included, similar to those included in my Cats & Dogs Addon! Lastly, I made new versions of some island counters (and their respective bars) which had the cabinets placed on the incorrect side. Oh, and there's also some individual shoe clutter objects which I thought of randomly, they can be used to set the indoor shoe rules as well.

Quick Summary

Updated versions of the Base Game island counters that had their cabinets on the "incorrect" side.

Meanwhile you guys can get the updated game from other pirates just fine i'd start with fitgirl but there are alot of people who repack the sims 4 game with updates and DLCs

Fitgirl is a pretty solid alternative its what i used for 2 years straight before i knew Anadius existed
