aye!! without saying too much he basically eats the heart of the person that kidnapped him (hyperion) while he was still a demigod and bc the hyperion took something from luke that luke technically couldn't take back from hyperion, luke decides to do everything he can to make him suffer. so he figures that if he eats an important part of hyperion it wont be as easy to grow it back bc its not apart of a body that isnt immortal. anyway it causes luke to ascend and take over hyperions domain of light
