SUCKIN' TOO HARD ON YOUR LOLLIPOP

GREAT movie. its VERY different from the comic but it was still great, a bit of a slow start but i have seen literally every clip that prereleased (99% of what was the start of the movie) so i think im biased.

i continue to not care about lobo, and now i genuinely do not understand why he was featured so prominently in the promos and merch when he was not in the movie (as much as i would expect from the promos. like he had i swear to god what 10? 20? minutes of screentime and hes the popcorn bucket?) like jason momoa is clearly a great choice for him and i think portrays him very well but hes so nothing in this movie dude. which makes sense bc the actual comic doesnt include him so it does lend to him feeling like. shoved into the movie

by far the weirdest part was the big climax battle scene for some reason having a weird ass acoustic-ish cover of The Middle in it?? the one place i would expect call me by blondie (the main promo song) (which was not anywhere in the movie) it was genuinely so jarring that i started laughing it took me right out. like wtf is that. it kind of sounded like they had music issues and had to insert some other Stock Music (though it was not stock music, it very much sounded like it).

i also wish they didnt just like gloss over jor-el's whole fucking deal . like it seems krypton is just regular people not Evil Overlords but there was literally no commentary on kal being sent to be A God except like a few lines about how hes a sweet boy and how zor-el wants to preserve argo city instead (not condemning the colonialism just wants to stay? lol?) but also i think its difficult to go thru all of that in a flashback in an entirely different language
