Devoured {||Sage + Sin||}
"He didn’t. We’d just met on the street…I cut my finger on something." She remembered his calculating face eying her and her finger. "Thinking back on it, he was tad odd about the whole thing. No previous gang affiliation, no. But uh…yeah, met me and then lead me here. Everyone was really surprised…that it was Lucas…?" She didn’t mention that she was entirely too nervous about it or that she feared being left out in the woods by the then-stranger. Everything had worked out in the end and even the combined ‘test’ Wren and Alec had tried to chase her off with didn’t deter her. The brunette grumbled thinking of that month, though she didn’t hold a grudge against either of them, she just didn’t like remembering that point in time.
"In a month, it’ll be a year. You’ve been here a long time." Sage blinked, eyes wide and surprised. Though, if she looked at her own almost-year it had gone by rather quick.
"You talk to Lucas and the others a lot?" Sage kinda wished she’d been around longer so she could have met Sin before this but late was better than never.
"Lucas doesn't exactly have a reputation for bringing back newbies," Sin said, lips pursed tightly together and her brows raised just-so. "Doesn't have a good track record with the few he has brought back, either. You're the first exception to his rule that's not.. Really a rule and more him being cruel at random." She shook her head, clearly not one for agreeing with the other Soldier's penchant for pre-meditated trouble where fellow and potential gang members were involved. "He can be nice though, don't get me wrong! It's just a little like.. Y'know, dealin' with something feral. Feral and moody on occasion. Usually nice, though, so long as you don't take his barbs to heart." Sin nodded solemnly once her final statement had been said, the older girl not wanting to alarm Sage.
"A year already? Time flies by, I guess. 'n yeah, I've been here for a while. Not long 'til I won't be if you look at how long I've already been around for," Sin shrugged, covering up the small tug of wistfulness. They were her family and the lab was her home, but rules were rules. The birds had to leave the nest eventually.
"Sometimes. I'm not particularly close with most of 'em, but we're civil." Another shrug. "What about you? Who d'you hang around?"
