Everything really was different, huh? There were a lot of details about this city that completely flew over Chiaki’s head, he could always understand them later! He had a place to spend the nights, and food as well! In retrospect, he had more pressing matters to attend to! One must survey the area in order to get a better understanding, sitting idly in a location would not be beneficial.
One might think something is wrong with a guy wandering around an area by himself, but it didn’t seem strange to him. What if he had accidentally wound up in an enemies territory? He would have to be prepared of places he could go to!
Something even better than walking around by yourself is walking around with a comrade! Chiaki spotted the familiar hairstyle from a long distance away, and that’s when he started running. Hopefully Subaru was prepared for Chiaki to come dashing at him full speed.
“Akehoshi!”
Subaru was certainly having a lucky day today. He’d found some coins left abandoned in a vending machine, he was able to get his hands on a new video game, and he had just made friends with that old lady down the street. However, despite the string of positive events, something suddenly felt oddly amiss to him.
The feeling he had wasn’t extreme enough that it could be considered a sense of “impending doom”, but even so, it was still an uncomfortable feeling... if he had to pinpoint it, the sensation seemed as if he were about to be hunted down by some sort of predator—
“Akehoshi!”
Subaru’s blood ran cold. There was only one person whose booming voice could give off that kind of overwhelming aura, and they had just locked eyes. “Uwah?! Chi-chan-senpai?!” This surprised him. What was he doing here? He was coming straight for him, too; he had to act fast.
Sidestepping, he managed to dodge the older boy just in time. “Don’t come suddenly running up to me! Geez, where did you even come from...?”
