Can you believe it? Because I still can’t quite believe it myself 😁

Three years ago, it all started with a simple idea. Today, Sims Dynasty Tree is a growing project where thousands of stories are created and preserved. Sometimes I look at how far it has come and still can’t quite wrap my head around how much it has grown.

What feels especially incredible is seeing that the site has become a home for more than just The Sims dynasties. Today, people use it to create family trees for inZOI and Paralives, real families, pet pedigrees, and even book characters. I originally created the site as a way to preserve the stories of my own characters — and now it holds thousands of other stories too. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of 🩵

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been with us throughout these two years. To everyone who has contributed to the creation and development of the project, supported us, shared ideas, told others about the site, left comments, or simply kept building their family trees here. Sims Dynasty Tree wouldn’t be what it is today without all of you.

And we’re still moving forward. Maybe not in huge leaps, but in small, steady steps — improving the site, refining existing features, and gradually bringing new ideas to life. We still have so many plans, so there’s much more to come! ✨

A brand-new collection of hand-drawn backgrounds has arrived on the website, created exclusively for Sims Dynasty Tree by the talented creator @liyaglsv ✨

The 12 new backgrounds are now available under Backgrounds → Backgrounds by Simmers.

The collection is inspired by changing seasons and moods: snowy forests and mountain villages, delicate spring landscapes, warm autumn valleys, and tropical sunsets in several color variations.

The soft, muted shades are easy on the eyes and keep the focus where it belongs — on the dynasty tree itself and the characters within it.

Choose the background that best suits the story of your dynasty.

✨ New Update on the Website! ✨

Today a new update has been released on the website. Here’s a closer look at everything that was added.

For premium subscribers:

✦  New avatar shapes Two new avatar shapes are now available: a wavy circle and a wavy rectangle. Choose the one that fits your style best.

✦  Displaying deceased characters — a new customization section Tired of the same black-and-white photos in your family trees? A new block called “Displaying a deceased” has been added to the customization section, where you can choose an alternative way to mark them. For now, we’ve added one option: a black ribbon over the avatar. More variations are planned for future updates.

Updates for all users:

✦  Photo upload grid When uploading an avatar, a grid now appears to help you center the image precisely on the first try. No more re-uploading the same photo multiple times to get the right position.

✦  New social media fields in the author profile Want readers to find you elsewhere? New social media fields have been added to the author card — simply fill in the ones that are relevant to you.

✦  New relationship type — “Imaginary Friend” You can now represent these special connections in your dynasty tree just like any other relationship.

✦  Close windows with the Esc key Used to closing windows with Esc like in the game? Now it works on the website as well. This key is now supported for all modal windows.

✦  Open trees with the middle mouse button From the “My Trees” section you can now open trees in a background tab — simply click Edit with the middle mouse button. Very convenient when you want to open several trees without closing the main page.

We have an important question: do you use character avatars without names in your trees? In our own practice, we usually keep names visible — it makes the tree structure clearer and easier to read. However, it’s important for us to learn how this works for you.

Your feedback will help us understand real usage scenarios and directly influence what the next update will look like.
