The last WIP before I start to upload the actual fanfic I promise:
(E/C) - Eye Colour. (The reader's son in this has her eye colour.)
(Also forgive mistakes, it's not edited yet.)
Maekar's trouble making son gets his ass beat but the reader's son thinks he's the best thing in the world...
WIP: (After the trial of Seven.)
Stood at the open door, (S/N) hesitates to enter. He knows for a fact that his mother would scold him for being here but the boy knew he must do this.
Slowly walking in, he looks on the bed to see a very injured Aerion, bruises littered all over his body. Bandages wrapped Aerion where his armour once did, protecting him from the gods.
(S/N) crept closer as he looked at the prince's face, his eyes where black and swollen. The boy stood right in front of the bed and as if his presence was felt, Aerion managed to crack one violet eye open.
"Um, mama said I'm not allowed to be here." (S/N) shifted from side to side, his hands behind his back.
Aerion unable to do much keeps his gaze on the boy, questioning in his own mind what could the boy possibly want?
Moving his hands to the front, (S/N) reveals his soft toy, a very much worn dragon plush. It's wings had lost their stuffing and layed limp on the plushie's back.
"He's Ruby and he is my bestest friend." (E/C) irises look down at the toy. The boy touches the snout of the dragon, giving it a silent boop. "Mama got him for me when I was born."
Aerion glances briefly at the toy before looking back at the boy, the pain he is in has made him unable to talk. The consequences of him running his mouth have finally caught up to him.
"Ruby is always there when I'm hurt or sick." (S/N) flips the dragon round so Aerion can see the full plush. It hadn't crossed the little boy's mind that a worn dragon toy wouldn't be something a prince would find impressive. "Egg says you wanna be a dragon."
If Aerion could he'd roll his eyes and give a snarky "I am a bloody dragon." But being unable to do so, he's forced to listen to the ramblings of a strange child that his youngest brother has managed to make friends with.
"Well, um... He can stay with you for now." The boy reaches and gently places the plush on the cover just above Aerion's chest. "Not to keep though, only until you get better."
(S/N) looks almost pleased with himself and gives a nod as if it's finalised. He steps back and goes to head out the prince's room.
Turning around one last time the boy lifts his hand and waves.
"Bye-bye, Aerion. Bye-bye, Ruby." And with that the young boy leaves Aerion in peace.
Turning his gaze to the dragon on his chest, Aerion shifts lightly which causes him to bite back a groan of pain as he slowly lifts his arm to grasp at the toy.
The lopsided dragon stares back at him, Aerion normally would scoff and throw it away from him. But, he just can't seem to do it. He brings it closer to his chest, and closes his eye. Letting sleep take over once more.
