The latest addition to the Archie McPhee Library is a super awesome series of 4 coloring books by writer and artist Theo Nicole Lorenz. It starts with Unicorns Are Jerks [Buy on Amazon], in which we discover that “Unicorns think they’re so great because they’re all mysterious and magical, but they can be real jerks sometimes.” They’re the sorts of jerks who text in movie theaters and eat your leftover. Not cool unicorns, not cool at all.
Next is Dinosaurs With Jobs [Buy on Amazon], which honors hard-working dinosaurs and their everyday efforts to make ends meet. Dinosaurs work as everything from driving instructors and dog groomers to tech support specialists and Shakespearean actors.
Fat Ladies in Spaaaaace [Buy on Amazon] is a body-positive coloring book celebrating “fat sci-fi heroines doing what they do best: trekking across the time and space, blasting off into adventure, and saving the day.” From rocketeers and space pirates to time travelers and intrepid explorers. “Because there’s a whole universe of body types out there, and they all deserve to be represented.”
Last, but not least is Mer World Problems [Buy on Amazon]. “Mermaids might seem to have it all, with their shiny tails and fancy seashell castles, but life under the sea is full of difficulties.” You think you’ve got it rough? Consider a lie without Wi-Fi, socially inept sea turtles, inaccessible freshwater parties, and having to leave the ocean simply to get some tacos.
