hey american followers
canadians reblogged fcc & net neutrality stuff for you so you had access to information - can you lend a hand and help us now?
Context (please share this post!):
Bell, Cineplex, Rogers and Shaw are trying to censor the internet and force the end of net neutrality in Canada.
BREAKING: The FCC just voted to repeal net neutrality, meaning weâre all screwed. TV news shows were essentially silent about this for the three weeks leading up to the vote.
When I saw this post on my dash, it kept disappearing every time the site finished loading. It had nothing to do with my blacklist extension, all evidence of this post on my dash vanished. I had to go to the blog of the person Iâm reblogging it from DIRECTLY. If you can see this post at all, even if itâs for a split second, try and like it and reblog it! Donât let this post be hidden!
More Beautiful After Being Broken
What this trite imagery misses out on is the fact that kintsukuroi requires a lot of work to repair a piece like that. It takes a lot of time, a lot of effort, a great deal of investment. Sometimes parts of the original are damaged beyond repair, and you have to instead painstakingly create entirely new ones.  Itâs still not the same. Maybe itâs something more beautiful. But itâs not the fact that it broke that makes it beautiful. Itâs the work put into it. Itâs the fact that people made the effort to salvage it, because it was worth salvaging, because it was important enough to salvage.   Itâs the care that makes the beauty.  An apology canât always fix what has been broken. That doesnât mean itâs not irreparable, sometimes you can go on to rebuild and repair. But it wonât ever be the same as it was again. Â
and the person doing the work is probably not the person who needed to give the apology. it was the person that was hurt putting themselves back together, maybe with help, maybe without.
âsorryâ is just sweeping up the broken pieces. theyâre barely more together in the dustpan than they were on the floor.

FCC Meeting was only a Proposal
The fight is not over. One battle rarely EVER wins the war. Petitions will go to congress. Ajit Pai is no where near as powerful as he thinks. Do not give him that power. Keep fighting.
So, hereâs a deal
Net neutrality is something very few Americans are going to afford going away
Any small schools? Pfft, they can barely. Maintain their buildings. What makes you think they can afford it?
Middle class? Not all of them.
Jobs online? Many are gonna suffer
Youtubers. A good amount will vanish
Artists? Woah that is much less money
So here is a deal
If they decide to get rid of it. Boycott
Stop paying these companies, dammit
You can live without your phone
Your Netflix
Your Tumblr
Just to tell them no.
If they donât listen to our words
Then they WILL listen to the lack of money
What Happens Now
OkâŚsoâŚIâm sure we are all reeling after everything that has happened due to the FCCâs decision to approve of the Repeal of Net Neutrality. I can honestly say it is saddening to hear that they want to block us off that badly. The vote may have been lost today but I want to make this clear: THIS. FIGHT. IS. NOT. OVER.
The FCC STILL has to take this to multiple courts in multiple countries as well as get it approved from Congress. Just because they gave a positive vote to this new system doesnt mean Congress will allow it to flourish. As it stands there are those in congress that do NOT agree with this system so there is STILL a chance to save our internet people. We may have lost the battle but we will NOT lose the war. We are going to strive and persevere in the face of adversity and we will show the FCC, Congress, even the President that the Internet is a free, open world and that is how it should stay. I know this is heavy news but do not lose hope simply because of this vote. It is a heavy pill to swallow but remember: We have only begun to fight.
Regardless of What Happens Tomorrow, Keep Contacting Your Reps
Your internet will not go black tomorrow if the FCC votes to repeal Net Neutrality. Youâll still have time to fight it.
People arenât kidding when they say Congress can stop the FCCâs decision. If they vote to repeal NN, that just means to have to strike Congress even harder than before. We HAVE to convince them to overrule the FCCâs decision in that case.
Weâre already making great strides. Republicans are speaking out against the FCC and telling them to cancel the vote altogether or put it off for further investigation and review first. Bills are being introduced by Congressmen to save NN. Hundreds and hundreds of businesses - including big name businesses - are banding together to protest, and you can bet they will be suing the FCC up and down if they vote to repeal the internetâs neutrality rules.
The only reason this is happening is because of public awareness and pressure. Asshole Pansy Pai may not care about the public, but our representatives are listening. Theyâre hearing us, and many of them are acting. We need to keep it up and get more on our side if weâre to ensure NN stays in place.
Whatever happens tomorrow, keep calling, texting, emailing, faxing, signing petitions, and doing all you can to save NN.
And if we ultimately win, whether tomorrow or in the future? The fight doesnât stop there. Theyâll keep coming back again and again unless we can get some permanent rules in place.
There are fights to make internet a state provided utility like water or electricity, provided by your local government rather than greedy ISPs. The few that have these set up in their towns already claim their internet is much faster and cheaper than ordinary internet already is. ISPs hate this, and are working to make this illegal, too. (Thatâs why itâs part of the repeals theyâre trying to pass.)
Whether we go down that route or not, we need to fight to keep this situation from ever happening again. If we donât, we might find ourselves losing someday.
Donât let that happen.
With a vote 3-2, Net Neutrality was repealed
âWhat I am pleased to be able to say is the fight to save net neutrality does not end today. This agency does not have, the final word. Thank goodness.â -Â FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn
You heard the woman. The fight is NOT over. It does NOT end today. This agency does NOT have the final word. This initial repeal means we have to fight HARDER and without mercy. This repeal will go to Congress and they will have the final word to repeal Net Neutrality or to keep it.
THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TODAY AND EVERYDAY UNTIL THE DAY THE COURTS DECIDE. Mignon Clyburn and Jessica Rosenworcel confirmed it at the hearing, our protesting does work! Clogging their phone lines, emails, and fax machines does get their attention! Use the sites you have been using like BattleForTheNet, SaveTheInternet, and continue to text RESIST to ResistBot At 50409, free of charge! (Despite the rumors of not doing this, THIS DOES STILL WORK) Send your personalized emails, whether long or short! Call your representativeâs offices and read scripts found on the internet if you donât know what to say! Non-Americans who want to help! CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORD OF WHAT TO DO! WORD OF MOUTH WORKS!
THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER. WE CAN STILL WIN THE WAR. THIS IS ALL OR NOTHING RIGHT NOW. ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND GET IN THERE!
We managed to make the repeal of Obamacare such a hot button issue the GOP failed to get the votes needed to repeal it outright, so we can do this. We need to treat net neutrality the same way. Make it too hot to handle. Make congress hear us and make them unwilling to touch net neutrality.Â

The FCC sided with Comcast and decided to let ISPs censor the internet. The Internet needs to stop this from happening: http://cms.fightforthefuture.org/tellfcc/
Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced a proposal for new rules that would allow for a â fast laneâ of Internet traffic for content providers who are willing (and able) to pay a fee. [1] The proposal reverses the FCCâs previous commitment to net neutrality and open internet and allows ISPâs like Comcast or Verizon to slow down and censor services that donât pay the toll.
We have to be totally honest, this situation is seriously grim. But there is still hope. The FCC already knows that the Internet community wants net neutrality, but they think they can put their spin on these new rules and sneak them through. If we can prove them wrong right now with a massive public outcry, we can literally save the Internet once again.
We need to stop the FCC now. Big business groups are already ramping up lobbying efforts with the FCC in swarms since Wednesdayâs announcement in support of censoring the open Internet and to ensure this dangerous proposal moves forward. [2]
This is a critical moment. In the last few weeks more than 65,000 people have taken action with us. Can you help us get to 80,000 by the end of the day today?

weâre almost ž of the way there!! câmon guys, every bit counts!
will it ever stop
fucking signal boost
IF YOU ARE NOT SIGNAL BOOSTING THIS YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION.
IF THE U.S. FALLS TO THIS IT WILL OPEN OTHER DANGEROUS DOORS INTERNATIONALLY.
Start a civil war against the US government.
Signal boost for my us followers
I try to keep the things I reblog as blog/mun-centric as possible, but this is something I just canât let slide.
Iâve been following this cause since last year. Iâve signed petitions, Iâve called representatives, Iâve been to protests, the whole nine yards.
This right here? This is not a joke. This is seriously happening, guys.
Remember the Wikipedia shutdown? That was to protest this right here. If you havenât taken action against this yet, frankly, what is wrong with you? If this doesnât get stopped, weâre going to lose the thing that brings us all together unless we shell out huge sums of cash to these corrupt bastards.
Do not just sit there and keep browsing.
Do not scroll past this.
Fight.
yo this shit important okay? im pretty worried myself
IMPORTANT
attention all Officials, all Tumblr users, whoever the fuck you are.
This is severely important.
Ever sit down after a stressful day, watch your favorite youtuber, do commissions, etc.? Well in FOUR DAYS, that can all be taken away very easily. Weâre so close yet so *far* from possibly saving the internet, and those whoâs lives depend on it. Within this blog, there will be a link to a petition to stop net neutrality from being killed. There are many people whoâs jobs are online. online schooling. the internet is extrememly important, and we canât let the FCC take it away! Instead of just merely liking this post, sign the petition and reblog this post!
>> Hereâs the link. <<
GUYS!!
we are so close!!
yet so.. FAR!!
Once again, I beg of you, reblog this post! So many peopleâs lives are depending on this!
Once again! I PLEAD you! Signal boost the fuck out of this! we need everyone to see it!!! Weâre so close yet so FAR!!! If we donât meet the goal in four/three days(?), then so many people will die and become depressed!!! STOP THE FCC AND SAVE THE INTERNET!
EVERY SIGN COUNTS!!
DO IT
GUYS KEEP GOING
LOOK I APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT BUT YOU SHOULD BE LEAVING YOUR COMMENT WITH THE ACTUAL FCC WHERE IT COUNTS.
www.gofccyourself.com
PLEASE. MAKE YOUR COMMENT THERE. IT WILL DO MORE GOOD. SAY YOU SUPPORT TITLE TWO AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES.
Petitions on change.org are nice and all, but they arenât as helpful as going directly to the FCC.
