diets and dietary restrictions
My typical diet usually consists of eggs and ham for breakfast or a bagel. sometimes i’ll treat myself and have cereal. For lunch its a typical rice or some grain with chicken or pork-chops. Pork-chops are my favourite, with some roasted red pepper and garlic spices. A recipe my mom came up with for a slow cooked rack of ribs that i have altered slighty. Pork ribs( obviously) for the dry rub its roasted red pepper and garlic, paprika, brown sugar. Once the ribs have cooked with tinfoil on for about an hour and a half then take off the cover and cover with BBQ sauce.
Ive been trying to lose weight, so ive been minimizing my calorie intake a bit. iI have minimized the amount of meat that im eating, trying to add more veggies into my diet. just bought some zucchini so im proud of myself. whenever I buy a snack that i know i shouldnt and i end up feeling bad. But try to make up for it by eating something cleaner and healthier. As a student its not always easy to eat healthy when junk is cheaper. I tried a Pesco- Vegetarian diet for a few months.I was on this diet for about 3 months than i gave into a bacon club sandwich. As a pesco-vegetarian diet, my breakfast consisted of cereal or a chibata bread, cucumber and herb and garlic sandwich. The rest of my meals were either, pasta with shrimp or crab, salad or veggie burger sandwich.
Trying to diet and be a chef is very difficult, i think ive gained 10lbs since i started chef school. I would love to get further into the industry and make more money so i can afford to go back to the pesco-vegetarian diet again. I love shell fish so im not sure how id be able to fully cut that out of my diet.
