i love stagings where christine is still worried that erik will hurt raoul even after the kiss. like she has just bestowed on him the greatest kindness and affection he has ever known but she doesn’t trust him. maybe she has forgiven him or could forgive him in time but her faith in him? gone entirely. and erik realizes it in that moment. he is trying to fix the mess he made and he sees her start to reach towards them in fear and he understands that even for all her kindness christine will always expect the worst from him. and why shouldn’t she?

to add to that, i love it whenever the staging of erik letting raoul go includes christine turning away whenever erik lets raoul go, implying that she thinks he's going to kill raoul rather than free him. like erik cries out in agony whenever he burns the red lasso from raoul's neck and christine turns away sobbing, not bearing to see raoul dead. and she only turns around whenever she hears raoul's gasp for air and rushing to help him. bonus if she stares at erik for a moment in shock before rushing to raoul

Kerik specifically deserves to by short. I think its why he talks about the jar so much he's making up for something.

The touring US production is so awesome the Carlotta and Christine actresses are operating under the tacit agreement that their characters are destined to be lesbian lovers and Raoul's actor is injecting at least a medium amount of bicuriosity into his character at all available opportunities and Monsieur André's actor understands in his soul that his character is gay. And that's how Phantom of the Opera was meant to be performed
