Hey Guys! ❣️So I've been focusing on kid and teen gameplay for the last few months, and one of the features I wanted to add is the requirement for teens to have to take the SAT (Sim Aptitude Test) , write a college essay, complete volunteer hours, and stay in contact with their teachers in order to get a full ride scholarship.

A teen who studies hard, completes official volunteer hours, writes a strong essay, keeps stress under control, gets help from teachers and counselors, and avoids cheating will have the best chance of winning the scholarship. A teen who procrastinates, panics, melts down, fakes volunteer hours, or applies before they are ready may lose their chance completely.

The No Sim Left Behind Scholarship is worth 75,000 simoleons.

❣️How to Study

Teen Sims can study for the SAT using their homework book. Studying increases their hidden SAT preparation count, which directly affects their future SAT score.

The more your teen studies, the better their score can be.

However, studying also increases stress. A teen who studies constantly without managing stress may become overwhelmed, which can hurt their scholarship chances.

The recommended number of SAT study sessions is around 12, though this can be tuned through XML (s3pe required)

Teen Sims can pull an all-nighter using their homework book. This gives a larger SAT prep boost than regular studying, but it also adds much more stress.

All-nighters are useful when a Sim is behind, desperate, or trying to cram before the SAT. However, relying on them too much can make the teen burn out.

Teen Sims can make a study playlist on the computer.

This is a lighter, more fun interaction. It helps reduce stress and gives a small boost to future SAT performance.

This interaction is useful when a teen is getting overwhelmed and needs something that still helps college prep without being as intense as studying or essay writing.

❣️How to Complete Volunteer Hours

Teen Sims can complete volunteer hours at the school rabbithole.

The mod treats these as school approved volunteer events.

Each volunteer session adds volunteer hours to the Sim’s hidden record.

Volunteer hours are important for the scholarship, but there is one key detail:

Volunteer hours do not oficially count until the teen submits the volunteer hour form on the computer.

This means a teen can complete hours, but if they forget to submit the form, the scholarship system may still treat their official hours as zero.

After completing volunteer hours, teen Sims need to submit their volunteer hour form on the computer.

This makes their volunteer hours official.

For the best scholarship chance, the Sim should reach the required number of volunteer hours and then submit the form before applying or claiming the scholarship.

By default, the scholarship expects around 100 official volunteer hours for the strongest application.

Teen Sims can fake volunteer hours on the computer.

This adds volunteer hours to their record, but the mod also tracks how many of those hours are fake.

Fake hours are risky.

A Sim can be caught:

Immediately after faking them During scholarship application review While checking scholarship status During the final claim review

If fake hours are caught, the scholarship application is denied.

❣️How To Submit College Essay

Teen Sims can write a college essay on the computer.

The essay has a hidden quality score from 0 to 10. A stronger essay improves the scholarship chance.

Certain traits may help the Sim improve the essay faster. Sims who are studious, ambitious, perfectionist, or naturally academic may have an easier time building essay quality.

A weak essay is better than nothing, but a high-quality essay gives the teen a stronger application.

❣️How to Email Teacher

Teen Sims can email a teacher from the computer.

This interaction represents the teen reaching out for academic help, application advice, or feedback. It can slightly improve essay quality and reduce stress.

Emailing a teacher also helps when asking for a teacher recommendation later.

A teen who contacts their teacher first has a better chance of receiving a recommendation than one who asks out of nowhere.

❣️How to Ask Teacher for Recommendation

Teen Sims can ask a teacher for a scholarship recommendation through the computer.

This interaction is not guaranteed to succeed. The chance improves if the teen has emailed the teacher, written a decent essay, or has traits that suggest they are hardworking or academically focused.

If successful, the teen receives a teacher recommendation, which gives a strong scholarship boost.

If rejected, the teen gains stress. They may need to study more, improve the essay, email the teacher, or try again later.

❣️How to Ask Counselor About Scholarships

Teen Sims can ask a school counselor about scholarships on the computer.

This interaction gives the scholarship application a helpful boost and reduces stress slightly. It represents the teen getting official guidance on what they need to do to prepare.

Counselor help also makes the teen’s application look more organized and responsible.

❣️How to Take the SAT

Teen Sims can take the SAT at the school rabbithole.

The SAT score is calculated using several factors, including:

How much the Sim studied How many all-nighters they pulled Whether they made a study playlist Whether they asked a counselor for help Whether they emailed a teacher Helpful traits Negative traits Stress level Meltdown count Retake status

The score is not completely random. A prepared Sim has a much better chance of doing well.

The SAT score can range from a low score to a strong scholarship-level score. A strong SAT score gives a major boost to the scholarship application.

If a Sim does poorly on the SAT, they can retake it at school.

Retakes can improve the score, but they are not guaranteed to do so. The mod keeps track of the Sim’s best SAT score, so if the retake is worse, the best score remains unchanged.

This allows teens to recover from a bad first attempt, but they should study more before retaking if they want better results.

❣️How to Submit Scholarship Application

Teen Sims can apply for the No Sim Left Behind Scholarship on the computer.

Applying submits the application and sets the scholarship status to pending.

The application chance is affected by:

SAT score SAT study sessions Essay quality Official volunteer hours Teacher recommendation Counselor help Teacher emails Study playlist Stress level Meltdowns Panic Fake volunteer hours Whether fake hours were caught

Applying does not automatically pay the scholarship. The Sim must apply first, then check their status, and finally claim the scholarship when ready.

Teen Sims can check their No Sim Left Behind status on the computer.

This is one of the most useful interactions in the mod.

It shows a full breakdown of the teen’s scholarship profile.

❣️How to Claim Scholarship

Teen Sims can claim the No Sim Left Behind Scholarship on the computer.

This is the final review.

If the application is approved, the household receives:

§75,000

❣️New Sim To Sim Interactions

These interactions appear under College Prep… when clicking another Sim.

Teen Sims can have a full school meltdown in front of another Sim. This lowers stress because the teen lets everything out, but it has consequences. It increases meltdown count, It hurts school performance, and It hurts scholarship chances.

Teen Sims can stress about the future with another teen or older Sim. It raises stress but can slightly improve the relationship because the teen is being vulnerable.

After taking the SAT, a teen can panic over their SAT score with another Sim.

This interaction is especially useful after a low score. It increases panic count and stress, which can slightly hurt the scholarship chance if the Sim keeps spiraling. Its mostly a storytelling interaction!

❣️Debug Menu

The mod includes a debug menu for testing.

To find it, click the teen Sim and go to:

College Prep… > Debug…

This mod simply lets your Sims actually practice cooking just like they would practice painting or guitar until they're actually good at it. I mainly use it for my aspiring chef sims :) Enjoy!

New Fridge Interactions

🍳 Practice Cooking

Click the fridge & choose practice cooking. Your Sim will continuously cook random recipes they already know to build their Cooking skill. Once they finish one meal, they'll immediately start another until you tell them to stop. Finished practice meals are automatically cleaned up so your house doesn't fill up with hundreds of plates.

🍲 Practice Recipe Until Mastered

Click the Fridge and choose a specific recipe. Your Sim will cook that same recipe over and over until they've mastered it. Meals remain after they're cooked so you can actually eat or sell them if you want.

🛑 Use Stop Practicing Cooking to give your sim a break. Click the fridge and choose Stop Practicing Cooking. Your Sim will finish whatever they're currently cooking and then stop instead of starting another meal.

Sims still need the proper appliances for each recipe (stove, grill, microwave, etc.).

Only Teen Sims and older can practice.

While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. With DXVK and S3SS living their high days, older Sims 3 installment guides are rapidly starting to become outdated. So here's a brand new and up-to-date step-by-step guide to go through when you do a fresh install of your game that will help you get the best performance you could possibly imagine for this old and laggy gem of a game.

Have Sims 3 installed, but is it performing abhorrently? I highly recommend a fresh install. You don't have to delete your saves or mods. Just get yourself a fresh bin to work with by uninstalling, going into your program files The Sims 3 folder and deleting any remnant files still in there. Then follow my guide!

Hi guys! This is a different kind of post and I really need your help.

A friend of mine and a well known Brazilian YouTuber, Angela Sims, who has created beautiful and free worlds for The Sims 3 such as Alpine Way, Hydrangea’s, and others that you can check out on her YouTube channel linked below, was plagiarized four days ago.

Someone uploaded Angela’s world to the EA Games The Sims 3 Exchange/Store without her permission. When she contacted EA support, they said they could not intervene and did not consider it plagiarism, which is honestly absurd.

You can find out the truth through this playlist.

Please reblog this so more people can see what is happening. And if you have The Sims 3 registered on the Store, please report the upload as plagiarism and include the link to my friend’s YouTube channel. She is very upset about this whole situation.

For whatever reason, people who are on the Steam version of Sims 3 (1.67) (edit: also people on EA app have reported this issue!) are experiencing issues with the game since the latest windows 11 update. It'll start up and get stuck on a black screen forever.

Luckily the solution is simple: your core mods are causing this issue. So far both Nraas Errortrap and Simler90's core mod have been known to be at the root of this. If you have these mods, take them out and try starting your game again. Problem fixed without these mods in your game? Then you're running the wrong version of these mods and for whatever reason since the newest windows update this will break your game.

Replace them with the correct versions here:

Download the Steam version of Simler90's mod here.

Download the Steam version of Errortrap here (click the steam icon).

Using these instead of whatever version you used first should fix your issue.

Disclaimer: there might be other (core) mods causing your issue. If you're still facing the problem even when taking Simler90 and Errortrap out, then you'll have to do some more searching to find your culprit. Check the comments in this post for additional mods that were found to cause issues + solutions. Also comment how you fixed your issue if it's different from what you read here.

A few hours ago, Kuttoe sent an announcement in Sims After Dark that NateTheL0ser's MTS account was compromised with several uploads containing a new script file called "silkrose_debug" that attempts to download files from a third-party website. It was confirmed that more creators have had their accounts compromised in the second announcement.

It would be highly recommended to avoid the site completely until everything is back to normal. And if you really want to download something, do so at your own risk. Make sure to scan your PC and download ModGuard. If either of them have detected something, delete it and immediately change all of your passwords. And in a worst case scenario, wipe your OS and change your passwords from a different, uninfected device.

Decor and clothing should not have script files included!

Please remember, this is a testing version!

This issue and fix applies only to your base-game/expansion pack worlds, not custom-installed worlds or store worlds. It's also Windows/Linux only.

Do you have this issue with all of your Sims in any new base-game/EP world, where your Sims' hair looks really weird because it has an odd texture, skin/eye replacements don't load etc. until you pull them into CAS?

(Even when it's a new save and a supposedly fresh cache?)

I've figured out the solution! Your game actually still does have some cache... but it's not in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 like you'd expect.

The Fix: (Reduces a full game install size by >10GB too!)

Go to your actual game install directory, e.g.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 3

2. Then go into the Caches directory and delete the .objectCache file inside (just named the name of the world if you don't have file extensions shown). If you use the discs, make a backup of this file!

3. Now, your game will actually load new textures from your default replacements! The new, modifiable cache will be found in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\WorldCaches and you can now delete that cache safely whenever you get new default replacements!

You'll need to repeat this for any EP world you have as well, if you want the fix to work on those, in the Caches folder inside their install directories:

EP1, EP01, World Adventures: China.objectCache, Egypt.objectCache, France.objectCache

EP2, EP02, Ambitions: Twinbrook.objectCache

Notes:

Be wary that using this method will make the first time you load into a world take a little longer, because the game needs to build the cache for the first time. This delay will lessen over time.

The EPX names with no 0 are for Steam, and the EPXX folder names are for EA App/Origin typically, but you might have them installed somewhere else if your install is old or via the discs.

Yes, the spacing in some of the filenames is inconsistent - yours might be different but that's how my Steam install looked

If something breaks (which I doubt would happen, but there's a possibility?), verify your Steam installation or repair your EA installation, then empty your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/WorldCaches folder. (Just re-add your backup if you have a disc install.)

This isn't me promoting regularly clearing your cache for no reason! That will cause a LOT of lag/delay. As a rule of thumb, you should only clear your cache when you add new mods or default-replacing/overriding CC, or your game isn't working properly. Otherwise, you're making the game do extra work. The cache is there for a good reason! It makes everything faster. However, if you do need to clear the new caches, caches for ALL worlds will now be in WorldCaches.

Apparently, WorldCaches is a very sacred folder on macOS, so I still wouldn't mess with that if you're not playing via the Windows version.

Steam/EA App may detect your game install as faulty because these files are gone, and redownload them, but this is rare and shouldn't happen automatically.

This has kind of been half-discovered in different situations before, but I couldn't find anything like this on a Google search. The generally-accepted solution was to mess around in CAS and NRaas, which is so slow for an entire town! It also doesn't apply to objects, and I think this fix might even help with objects too?

I've asked the Sims3SettingsSetter team if they could implement this as a patch so you don't need to mess with the files yourself. I'll update this if I get a response as that'll make things easier!
