Did you ever stop to think that it didn’t work out because you were destined for something greater? You mourn a reality that is so much less than what the universe has in store for you. The world had to dash your dreams because they were too small for you. You’re fated to be a King or a Queen, but you were settling for life as a pauper. You deserve more, so much more. Your future is so much greater than your past. This isn’t a dig at that other person or job. It is merely a fact they weren’t bringing out the best in you and were holding you back (and likely vice versa) – which isn’t the best for either of you. Your energy needs to be flowing toward the highest light. But they were taking you into darkness. They were stifling the highest that you could become. As you align more and more with your true self, you will naturally distance yourself from those who don’t resonate with that core. It’s not all black or white either. There were undoubtedly some wonderful qualities about them. That’s what attracted you to them in the first place. There were magical memories. And there are ways that they helped you grow. So, we can still look at them and that experience with gratitude and wish them well. But we can’t stay there. Your holding on to the past doesn’t help you flourish. If you are either grieving their loss or resenting how they treated you, you are still stuck in that lesser reality. Hence, you are preventing a higher possibility from entering your life. Once you let go of what doesn’t serve you, you make room for what does. You’ve been locking yourself in your bedroom when the entire kingdom is your birthright. I’m getting familiar with my own pain. He has become a frequent visitor lately. Tonight, he and I share a drink, and I listen closely as he tells me what hurts the most. There is grief here, that I can tell—sorrow that runs deep into the bone. This sadness has become a part of him. It has mixed with his blood and runs daily through his veins—my veins. I ask him what he wants. He looks at me and I see in his eyes a thousand tears that beg to be released. “I just want to be seen,” he says, “to be felt, to be heard, and most of all to be loved.
