All I ask of you is that you feel deeply — the love, the joy, the pain, the sadness — feel it all and know that in those feelings are your truth. That underneath them all is grace. We think sometimes that only when we experience happiness is God in our lives. But that is so limited. Do you not know the story of Job in the Bible who had everything taken from him by God so Job could grow in faith. God works in everything — in not only the smile that explodes open our heart, but also in grief that yanks us to our knees. Both are humbling. Both reveal truths of the human soul.
