Sewing Updates 🧵🪡✨
I was starting to get a little overwhelmed with all the work I still had left so I did pause this project to make a skirt, but I'm officially back to business.
First thing I did was attach the rigilene to the back lining by hand. I then basted the shell and fashion fabric together because I wanted to make sure there were no lumps and bumps, and then I prick stitched the lining and the shell together along the outside of the rigilene. I turned in the seam allowance on the lining pieces and fashion pieces and whip stitched them together.
I'm still working on finishing the lining on one side, but in the meanwhile I've also hand finished the hem of the front of the gown skirt, ripped up strips of fabric for the trim, and started prepping the flounce pieces. I also finally started on the sleeves! I've yet to attach them to the bodice but that's coming eventually. 🤷♀️
I do still have quite a bit left to do but it's feeling way less daunting these days. I'm pretty excited to start making the trim, and finally sewing the stomacher to the front. I'm going to be adding another lacing panel to the front as I've seen other people do to get the best fit, so I also need to get started on that at some point.
