“Ah, right. She overprotective or something? I know a few guys with parents like that. My friend has a burner cell just to talk to girls because his parents don’t think it’s right to talk to girls over the phone.”

“Not overprotective. Like, she lets me do things, but she has to know that I’m okay at all times. Oh my god, no. She lets me talk on the phone. She’s not crazy.”

“Who and who?” 

“For real?”

“In the pond, a fish almost ate it but I was able to rescue the phone. You could say I became somewhat of a heroin.”

“How did you drop your phone into a pond? That seems kinda hard to me.”

“Does anyone know how to fix phones…. I dropped mine where it wasn’t suppose to be dropped.”

“Oh my gosh. Where?”

So, who wants to go shopping or whatever? I need new shoes.

“I don’t know, I just go with it. It makes things easier for me to remember. It really doesn’t matter that much. I never said it was everyones’ thing. You guess?”

“Okay then. I don’t know. She’s just...She’s very mom-ish, you know. Like, she likes to keep track of everything I’m doing, which is sorta boring.”

“See, now you’re reading too far into it. You’ve just gotta go with what feels right. That’s a good word for it. My mom is pretty damn cool, if I do say so myself. As cool as moms can be anyway.”

“Am not. I’m just asking a very legitimate question. But how do you determine what’s right in this sort of circumstance? It’s easier just to use their real name. My mom’s okay, I guess.”

“Well, those too but they’re not exactly the most important. I did just mean in general. Yet? Oh, right, you’re new around here? Cute.”

“Oh. Then yes. I do have general relationships. Yeah. I started like two weeks before finals, which was sort of the worst. Cute? Why?”

“It’s easier to remember people by the movies they’re in. You thought it was scary? It confused the shit out of me, too deep. Yeah, she does. She’s pretty into movies.”

“But what if you have two people in a lot of the same movies? Who gets which one? Maybe not scary, but definitely unsettling. Your mom sounds cool.”
