Welcome Back Parade Vatreni
Today, on the 16th of July 2018, more than 300.000 Croats, which is a lot if you recall that Croatia is a nation of just 4.2 mil. people, have gathered in Zagreb, more specifically, around the Main Square, just to great and welcome our Croatian National Representation, Vatreni, back.
The whole event was filled with joy, there has not been a single incident, and I have honestly, never in my life, cried so many happy tears.
The team greeted the fans for almost 6 hours while traveling on the parade bus to the hear of the event, and as im currently writing this, they have finally gotten there and are all truly celebrating among the people.
I have never seen such a strong bond and brotherhood between Croats in my life, and i’m glad I have experienced this. It was truly beautifull.
Football has always been more than just a sport in Croatia. Football has played an important role ever since our debut in the World Cup in 1998. On that cup we have proven ourselves to function as a new foundend independent country, and gained respect and trust of many other countries.
Things aren’t the best here in Croatia, and its nice to see people stop worrying and hating each other; even if it is just for a month every four years. Its nice to see a change.
I hope that we will remember this event, and how we all got together to celebrate, respect and be proud without causing trouble or harm to anyone. I hope thing will be better in the future for Croatia, for our people.
