Facebook could soon unveil the biggest change to News Feed in years - offering several streams of news instead of one.

The new design - currently under test in Facebook’s app - offers several sections instead of the traditional one.

While the traditional ‘News Feed’ remains in place, users will be able to swipe to access news feeds based on interests, such as ‘Style’ or ‘Headlines’.

The new feature is currently under test with some Facebook users, and was spotted by Jason Stein.

Stein said, ‘Facebook is adding customizable interest-based feeds. A newspaper made up of all the world's newspapers.’

Facebook told The Verge, ‘People have told us they'd like new options to see and have conversations about more stories on Facebook around specific topics they're interested in’

A new website has helped British drivers save £2 million - by overturning 30,000 parking fines.

Joshua Browder, 18, from London set up the website DoNotPay.co.uk in August - and since then, 86,000 people have launched appeals via the site.

The service is free, and allows users to launch appeals rapidly against council parking fines - picking one of 12 reasons for defence, and then sending a customised appeal directly to the relevant council.

A poll of site users found that 40% had been successful in overturning their fines.

Joshua said, ‘I am shocked that the site has had such a large impact.

‘When I started DoNotPay, I thought that it would help a small handful of family and friends. I could never have imagined that it would help reclaim millions in parking fines.’

Any frequent traveller is familiar with jet lag - that grotty, sleepless feeling one gets from crossing too many time zones in the air.

But French aircraft designer Airbus might have the cure.

The company’s new A350XLB has several features built to reduce jet lag - including LED lights which mimic sunlight, in order to control the body’s circadian rhythm.

The idea is that the jet’s lights mean that people still have the sense of a day and night cycle even when in the air.

Light therapy is often used to treat severe jet lag, so the idea may have legs - although Medical Daily points out that the technology has undergone any clinical trials.

The first ‘anti-jet lag’ plane is already in use by  Qatar Airways.

The plane also comes with a hi-tech air filtration system which replaces the air inside the jet every two to three minutes.

It’s certainly a shake-up for the book of Genesis - but a Biblical scholar has argued that Eve was made from Adam’s penis, not his rib.

Biblical scholar Professor Ziony Zevit suggests that Eve was made from Adam’s ‘baculum’ or penis bone - and that’s why Man doesn’t have one.

Professor Zevit, of the American Jewish University in Maryland said the Hebrew word 'tsela', doesn’t actually translate as 'rib' and instead 'refers to limbs sticking out sideways from an upright human body.'

Hence Eve’s surprising origins from below Adam’s belt.

The word ‘tzela’ or ‘tsela’ is used in several different senses in the Old Testament - and Professor Zevit claims that this has confused translators.

He says that it refers to any protruding part of the anatomy, including feet, arms and penis.

Zevit says, ‘'Of these appendages, the only one lacking a bone is the penis.’

It isn’t quite walking on water, but a priest appeared levitating on a trendy hoverboard in front of his congregation - and the authorities didn’t approve.

The priest showed off by zooming around on a the must-have ‘swegway’ gadget in Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Biñan Parish, Philippines.

The hip priest gave his hovering sermon on Christmas Eve.

People in the church seemed to like it - with laughter and cheers as the priest zoomed through the church.

But church authorities were less amused.

The Diocese of San Pablo said, ‘The priest said that it was a wake up call for him; he acknowledged that his action was not right and promised that it will not happen again.

It’s not cheap

You might think that YOUR insurance premiums are high - but spare a thought for stuggling galactic smuggler Han Solo.

Insuring the Millennium Falcon would cost Solo £200,000 a year - with the roguish space pirate penalised for previous speeding convictions and having a Wookie as a co-driver.

Solo would also be hit hard because he rarely parks the Falcon twice in the same place - and has ‘unusually high mileage’, according to Mail Online.

Admiral car insurance told Mail Online: 'We'd definitely have to run this one by our underwriters.

'They would need to consider the age of the vehicle, the fact the main driver is a smuggler and he probably has more than one driving conviction - we heard that his vehicle made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

Next year will be the hottest ever recorded, according to a long-range forecast from the UK Met Office.

If so, it will mean the three hottest years ever have occurred back to back - as this year already looks certain to beat temperature records set in 2014.

Climate change and the  El Niño weather phenomenon are thought to be behind the searing temperatures.

The Met Office forecast shows the global average temperature next year will be 1.14 Centigrade above pre-industrial temperatures.

The Met Office says there is just a 5% chance next year will be cooler than this year.

Professor Adam Scaife, the Met Office’s head of long range forecasts, said, ‘This forecast suggests that by the end of 2016 we will have seen three record, or near-record years in a row for global temperatures.’

Admit it - the sight of this penguin wearing elastic pants is too much cute to take, isn’t it?

Pebbles the penguin wasn’t just wearing those trousers to make a bold fashion statement - they provided a very important service, too.

Pebbles was born with badly splayed legs and was facing a life with a permanent disability because of the condition, which is common in penguins.

But the nifty pants, the creation of staff at Scarborough Sea Life Centre, North Yorks, have turned things around for Pebbles and the Humboldt chick can now walk around unaided on her happy feet - look at her now!

Lyndsey Crawford, displays supervisor at the centre, said of the penguin’s condition: “Pebble’s mum and dad were a bit over zealous with their brooding, and by the time we were able to disturb the nest without upsetting them her legs were growing out sideways instead of straight.

“It’s a common problem with many bird species, but unless treated quickly it can result in a permanent disability.”

Lyndsey and her colleagues used coloured elasticated bandage to make Pebble’s tight-fitting trousers and gradually they succeeded in correcting her gait.

She said: “She’s not exactly graceful, but at least now she’s only as clumsy and ungainly as all penguins are on dry land.

And what better way to celebrate the trousers AND her first birthday than with a fish-shaped cake?

Lyndsey added: “I don’t think she had a clue why she was getting a special treat today, but she looked very happy about it all the same and of course, she shared with all her feathered friends.”

“Mum! Mum! Can we go to Kent?” isn’t traditionally a refrain you’ll hear ringing around many kitchen tables when the subject of the family holiday comes up - but it soon might be. Lonely Planet has named the county as its top European family holiday destination.

The garden of England beat tough competition from Kerry in the Republic of Ireland (2nd) and the Black Forest in Germany (3rd) to take the top spot. But it’s not just the greenery that got the Lonely Planet all pumped up: there’s the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate, Cantebury Cathedral and more sandy beaches than you can shake a stick at.

Also adding to Kent’s allure is Margate’s soon-to-be-reopened Dreamland theme park which has undergone a £30 million, 11-year “reimagining” courtesy of Wayne Hemmingway. The beloved park opens its new doors on June 19th, with restored vintage rides like the helter skelter, dodgems, a roller rink and a big wheel overlooking the sea.  

It’s not just Lonely Planet that’s given Kent the seal of approval; Britain’s new Tourism Minister Tracey Crouch made a visit to Kent her first official public appearance in office, praising the county’s world class attractions that brought £21.8bn into the local economies last year.

Not everyone is convinced by the accolades, though, and we can’t help but apologise in advance to any holidaymakers for the weather.

As for the Lonely Planet’s top overall places in Europe, Akureyri in Iceland nabs the top position and Britain doesn’t even get a look in to the top 10. The travel guide also contends that Europe’s best beach can be found at Jaz Beach in Montenegro.

A man died as a result of horrific internal burns after he ordered a glass of wine but was served dishwasher detergent instead.

Dad-of-two Andres Lorente was in an unnamed cafe in Benircarlo, Spain, and was accidentally served up the odourless and colourless liquid that was being kept inside the fridge in an old wine bottle.

The 50-year-old is said to have only taken a small sip of the cleaner but it was enough to burn his throat, windpipe and stomach.

He was rushed to hospital but he later died from massive internal burning.

A source in the investigation team said: "Everything at the moment is pointing towards a tragedy caused by negligence rather than ill-intent.

"The industrial cleaner appears to have been placed in an empty wine bottle in the fridge with the terrible consequences that entailed.

"In its appearance, texture and colour, it was identical to the glass of white wine the victim had ordered.

"Our understanding is he only took a small sip of the liquid.”
